The online mode in Luma Island is surprisingly stable, and the co—op here is not just a check mark on the menu, but a full-fledged gaming environment with many activities. In the company of friends, you can go to the dungeons, hunt for rare items, build structures together and develop the base. The developers have added a convenient feature for marking a partner on the map: a glowing path appears along which it is easy to reach a friend. Now each luma has its own type and unique ability: aquatic ones search for treasures, earthen ones harvest, natural ones extract berries and flowers, stone ones light torches, and some species even protect the player from enemies. Collecting lums now brings tangible benefits, and the mechanics themselves have gained depth and a strategic component.

Another important element was the new profession — shipwright. A corresponding NPC appeared in the town, and an opportunity opened up in the bay to create and repair an ancient pirate galleon. The expansion has added dozens of quests related to pirates, their ship, and local locations. For the most curious, there is also a special storyline — the search for the missing pirate crew.

Mini-games have also come to life: humor, drive and variety have appeared. You can arrange a duel with whips, challenge a skeleton in arm wrestling, try a pirate music game or engage in the naval equivalent of throwing axes. And it’s now easy to create a bay—style themed corner on your farm – access to the themed decor opens as you progress.

From the technical side, the game is still a bit rough, but it was with the release of Pirates that many problems began to disappear. The developers have improved the visual labels, updated the logic of the map, redesigned the house system and optimized the progress of the tools. Lums are now less likely to get stuck in textures, and collecting rare resources has become much easier. The cost of upgrades has been revised in favor of a smoother and more casual progression, which makes exploring the world much more comfortable.
