Release Information
The DLC does not work without the main game—there’s no separate installation required. The system requirements are identical to those of Frostpunk 2:
System Requirements
Breach of Trust requires virtually no additional disk space—the content is packaged within the existing game archive. A console version has been confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; the status of later generations (PS4, Xbox One) has not been officially announced.

What awaits players in the Breach of Trust expansion?
The storyline takes the survivors to New Edinburgh. The location is specific: the city is perched at the foot of a volcano, which began to show character due to the mistakes of the previous leader. He pumped geothermal energy too hard for the generator — now the players will have to figure out the consequences.

The DLC will include:
-
Five factions and communities. Each group has its own ideological views, unique background and goals — it is unlikely that it will be possible to reach an agreement with all of them.
-
Natural threats. The developers have rolled out new mechanics like “Volcanic Nights” and “Tremors” — it will become noticeably more difficult to survive.
-
An autonomous colony. It will be possible to interact with neighbors in different ways — from peaceful trade to banal extortion or forcible seizure.
-
New building content. Five types of buildings and infrastructure centers will be added to the game, as well as two scenarios and a bundle of new laws.
By the way, against the background of the announcement, 11 bit studios shared the success of the franchise: the total audience of Frostpunk exceeded 11 million people. It took the series almost eight years to reach this milestone. In honor of the event, Steam has organized a large—scale sale – discounts on both parts reach 90%. The promotion will last until March 13.
A remake of Frostpunk 1886 and a graphic novel
The developers have finally broken the silence about Frostpunk 1886, which is a full-fledged remake of the first part based on the Unreal Engine 5. Starting on April 9, the studio will post monthly development reports. Apparently, the project will be a technological leap for the series — the picture in the original was already decent, but on the new engine it should look exorbitant.
In parallel, 11 bit studios is expanding the universe towards literature. A graphic novel is in production, though without a specific release date. Justin Jordan (known for Deathstroke) is responsible for the script, and Ryan Benjamin, who had a hand in the Batman Beyond and Wonder Woman comics, draws everything. The tandem is serious — we are waiting for a dark story in the spirit of the original source.
