Ninja Theory and Xbox Game Studios have officially announced Senua, a full—fledged action adventure set in the Hellblade universe. The release of the new part is scheduled for 2027, and the list of target platforms includes PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), Xbox Series and, notably, PlayStation 5. The project is positioned as an independent story, which is perfect for those who missed the previous games in the series.

What is known about the plot and the world of Senua?
The Celtic warrior is back again, but this time the setting will be a fragmented purgatory — a world at the junction of life and death. Therefore, the authors decided to delve into the topic of perception of reality: the environment is woven from memories, pain and myths, and the main threat to the heroine’s mind will be some kind of invading golden force combining beauty and poison. Senua’s goal remained deeply personal — to make her way to the afterlife in order to bring back those she had lost and finally find inner peace.
Gameplay and combat system features of the new Hellblade
The developers promise to completely redesign the combat system, focusing on tactical brutality. The main gameplay innovation will be the ability to fight with two blades in hand, which will add dynamics to the chaos of the battle.
