What looked impressive in the conditional NFS is perceived in WRC 10 as a strange and frankly crude function. Even if you spend time creating your own livery, the result is more like an attempt to “finish what’s unfinished” — the tool is clearly inferior in capabilities to modern customization editors.

Nevertheless, after a short acquaintance with the menu, the moment comes to move on to the main thing — the career mode. Here, the player is offered to choose which level of competition to start the path from. There are two options available: Junior WRC, where everyone races on the same cars, and WRC 3, which requires them to confirm their qualifications by completing a special stage in the allotted time. They give you three attempts, which creates a slight tension and emphasizes the importance of this step.

After choosing the level, you will have to decide on the type of team: private or factory. The difference lies in the resources, support, and goals that the player will face. Next, it remains to choose a specific team in which to spend the season.

And here begins what has already become the “signature” element of the series — career management. Year after year, developers add team management elements, calendar planning, machine health monitoring, and staff interaction. For some players, this adds depth, while for others it seems boring and drawn out. Indeed, management in WRC 10 still looks more like a must-have attribute than an interesting game mechanic.
