In MISERY, everything starts with deceptive calm. You are one of the few survivors trapped somewhere in the abandoned post—Soviet territory called Zaslavie. Together with friends (or in proud solitude), you wake up in an old two—story house where time seems to have stopped: dusty windows, rusty pipes, cracked tiles – and the feeling that someone has just left the room.
The game doesn’t give you time to rock. You have exactly one minute to search the house and stuff your tiny backpack with everything you find: batteries, canned food, first—aid kits, maybe an axe or a flashlight. Glory is a world that lives by its own rules. Curiosity kills like a bullet here. Every step can cost a life, but there is a new story, a new discovery, a new chance hiding around every corner. You will die often, and each time you decide whether to risk going back for your loot or let go of everything you’ve lost.
That’s why it’s important to stick together. Let the one who got at least some kind of knife or tire iron go first, and the rest will take lanterns – the night is falling rapidly in the Zone, and without light it turns into a solid black abyss, where a step to the side may be the last.

The first thing you’ll be hunting for is consumables. Bandages, first—aid kits, radiation pills, vodka, cigarettes, chocolates, water – everything goes into action. Even contaminated water is better than nothing. After all, the characters have not only the usual indicators of hunger, thirst and fatigue, but also much more dangerous parameters — radiation and reason. If you overdo it with radiation, you’ll die instantly. If you lose your mind, the world will turn into a nightmare with distorted reality and hallucinations. Therefore, everything found must be carried to the bunker, where you can rest and sort the loot before going outside again.
The main problem in MISERY is the small inventory. There is not enough space, especially if you decide to collect resources for crafting. Finding a backpack, bag or suitcase is already a stroke of luck, and costumes with additional slots become a real find. Sometimes you want to take something big with you, like a barbecue to put around the campfire at the shelter. But it’s not that simple: you can’t take it away with your hands, you’ll have to look for a container or something where it fits. The zone forces you to think and choose: necessary or desired.

At first, the bunker itself resembles an ordinary warehouse — a pile of junk, cramped space and no order. But gradually it turns into a real house. You can create tools, equipment, and even other workbenches on the workbench to develop the base. All this requires energy, so you’ll have to find fuel, wires, and generators by connecting them manually.

After being released into MISERY, the world changes: the Zone map is generated anew, and although there are familiar places in it — craters, camps, helicopter pads, soldiers frozen in eternity — the resources will always be new. This makes each outing unpredictable and unique.
Release by release, you will upgrade the shelter, create new equipment, accumulate supplies and explore further. But the Zone lives its own life: sooner or later winter will come, and familiar places will change beyond recognition. The temperature will drop, resources will become scarce, and you will have to fight for survival again. If it doesn’t work out, it’s okay. In MISERY, each cycle is an opportunity to start over, become stronger, and live a little longer than last time.
