Crimson Desert combines a vast open world, epic battles, and a deep adventure atmosphere. It is full of side quests, secret bosses, and puzzles that are easy to get lost in. And in all this chaos, it is easy to lose incredibly useful items — like the magic scythe. It is great at cutting rubber and other raw materials, but getting it is not easy: you need to complete a series of non-obvious steps. And yes, many people miss it.

Where to find magic scythe in Crimson Desert and Arkin quest?

First, you need to gain access to the village of Pororin (south of Hernand). And here is the first surprise: you cannot get in that way. You try three times, and three times you are knocked out. Each time, the same cutscene plays: you wake up on the outskirts. But on the third try, you meet a local guy named Arkin. He gives you a short quest — and thus begins proper access to Pororin.

The task is this: find a relic at the top of a huge sentient tree and fight your way through the ruined forest. All this without a map, practically blind. Once you obtain the relic, return to Arkin. The reward is a Totem Pole of Bonds and, more importantly, full access to Pororin. You will no longer be knocked out and thrown into the forest by a group of children. (It works, I have tested it.)

How to open Lumielle workshop and harvest lavender?

Now that the village is open, head south to the Petal workshop. The owner, Lumielle, agrees to help, but first listen to her request. It turns out she needs lavender for a new potion. Five units. The collection point will be marked on the map — a large field of purple flowers. Run and harvest, no bosses.

Return to Lumielle to complete the quest. And you gain access to her research tree — and from there, you can craft that magical scythe. Incidentally, the rubber will come in handy later for even more powerful upgrades. So do not be lazy, it is worth it.

Leveling up research tree and crafting secret tools

So, you have got access to the workshop, and the lavender quest is complete. Now comes the most tedious part. You need to level up Lumielle’s research tree until the “Secret Tools of Life” branch appears. Getting the desired node will not be easy — you will have to go through a bunch of others.

If you are new to research in Crimson Desert, remember: knowledge comes from quests for the Pororin faction. Each node is tied to a specific task. If you want to unlock, say, “Palmer Leaves,” complete the quest with the same name. They are short and not infuriating. Grind until you reach the coveted node.

When you are ready, return to Lumielle. Dialogue, payment in silver, and… a timer. Yes, research in the game happens in real (in-game) time. One node might take a couple of hours, another two. There is a range. Besides, the price is 500 silver. That is a lot to start with. Do not rush for a scythe right away — it will really come in handy by midgame or even endgame. You can live without it. But what if you are really strapped for cash? Steal gold bars from the nobles in Demeniss’s Menagerie and deposit them at any bank. It works.

How to get finished scythe from Graymane camp through Ross?

Research complete. Now the scythe will not just fall into your hands. Head to Graymane’s camp and find Ross. In the Send Allies menu, select Florindale — then there is the “Magic Scythe Production” option. Sent. Wait. When the process is complete, check the chest. Voila — the scythe is yours.

Advantages of magic scythe for quick resource gathering

Chops rubber and other materials much faster than usual. Manual assembly used to take forever — now it is ready in a jiffy. It is not really necessary at the start, but for those who love crafting to the fullest, it is an indispensable item.

Magic scythe resource farming

Best rubber build in Crimson Desert for fast farming

Getting rubber in Crimson Desert does not require a character to be an unkillable terminator capable of soaking up millions of damage. The main goal is to maximize mobility for continuous sprinting between respawn points while the magical scythe passively increases the speed of the harvest animation.

Many players make the simple mistake of pouring all their points into pure damage at the start. This is a trap. Damage figures will not help you loot the resource faster, and a support player overloaded with defensive skills will simply turn the run into a tedious routine. The best choice lies in a hybrid build. The right setup allows you to find the right rhythm: fly into a spot, mow down the material, instantly clear out aggressive mobs, and rush to the next node. No long casts. No drawn-out fights before harvesting.

Where to start optimizing your route? First, ruthlessly cut cooldowns. Farming here works exclusively on short and frequent cycles. Then, improve survivability (just enough so that a stray hit from a random patrol does not send the hero to a checkpoint).

What you absolutely need to keep in your active pool:

  • A dash or jump skill. Critical for quickly closing empty zones between nodes.
  • AoE damage. Small guards fly off in seconds, leaving you a completely clear path.
  • Stamina boost. Helps maintain a stable sprint on long runs without getting out of breath.
  • Light defense. A simple shield or invulnerability window will save your timing even with the slightest positioning error.

Have you mastered the path inside and out? Great, now feel free to remove all heavy attacks from your rotation. Tempo is the deciding factor in resource farming. Fewer pauses means your inventory fills up faster.
