If you’ve played even a little bit of Far Far West, you already know: gold is everything here. Weapon upgrades, skill upgrades, new guns—it all costs a fortune. You were rich one minute, and after a couple of upgrades, you’re looking at your bill like a cowboy who’s lost his shirt at the card table. It’s a shame.

But don’t despair. You can farm gold quickly and without the mindless grind of mining with a pickaxe. There are a couple of really effective schemes that will allow you to return from each foray, if not with a mountain of gold, then at least with enough money for a decent dinner at the saloon. And yes, almost all the cool upgrades in the city require serious reserves. Without them, you’ll be wiped out in late-game firefights.

Efficient ways to earn gold in Far Far West

The best way is to find a gold vault. It’s hidden in a mine on the Canyon map. You can’t access it normally. First, you’ll need to collect four medallions scattered throughout the location. Each one has its own mini-puzzle.

Where to find all the medallions for the gold vault

  • Hawkeye’s Medallion — western part of the map. There are targets near the safe. Shoot them all to get yours.
  • Bobby’s Medallion — hidden behind a wall that can be blown up. Dynamite will help.
  • Sweaty’s Medallion — look under the eastern bridge. There’s a shovel lying nearby. Dig up the body, and the medallion is yours.
  • Sheriff’s Medallion — the easiest one. It’s right next to the wall with the nests, next to the corpse. Pick it up and pick it up.

Once you’ve collected all four, the vault will open. And there’s a really big pile of gold inside. Once the vault is open, you can act boldly. Run into the mine, grab the gold, and then head straight to the evacuation. This is the safest and fastest way if you don’t care about anything but money. Many players deliberately run this route on easy difficulty. Why risk it? This way, you can repeat the run consistently and accumulate gold without stress. By the way, if you stumble upon a vein, don’t pull out your pickaxe. Use dynamite. Yes, you’ll get a little less gold, but your mining speed skyrockets. This means you’ll farm more in a couple of runs than if you spent half an hour digging.

Another viable option is to not ignore side objectives. They award bonus gold on each map. Individually, the reward doesn’t seem like much, but over several runs, it adds up to a decent amount. And what’s important is that this is the best balance between gameplay and profit. You’re running around the map collecting loot anyway, so why not get a bonus for it?

Particular attention should be paid to the Gold Tooth Joker buff. It increases the gold return for each enemy killed. Paired with a well-developed build, this Joker works wonders on hard difficulties. Take out Marauders, and they’ll literally fund your leveling. A good option for those tired of peaceful farming.

And one last piece of advice: open all the chests. Yes, even the ones on the side. They contain more than just ammo and healing items. Gold bars also have a good chance of dropping. So don’t be lazy. You’re always passing by them anyway.

Rookie Mistakes When Farming Resources in Far Far West

Most newbie miners fail at something basic: they enter a mine without medallions and hope for luck. It won’t work. Instead of a well-thought-out plan, we see chaotic rushing around the map, which eats up precious time. The end result is a meager handful of loot instead of a substantial cache.

Key points of lost profit:

  • Lack of a route. If you dive into the thick of things without clear logistics, you’ll end up running in circles through empty locations. This is a waste of resources.
  • Excessive risk. Players often ignore extraction when their inventory is already bursting with valuable drops. Remember: the longer you’re visible on the map, the higher the chance of getting shot and losing everything.
  • Slow mining. Mining a vein with a pickaxe when there’s dynamite nearby is a strategic mistake. You’re wasting extra minutes and managing to loot significantly less gold.
  • Skipping side loot. Chests and small targets often hide ammo or first aid kits (sometimes even rare consumables). These resources are what save you money on your next run.

Leveling up Gold Tooth Joker for passive income

Cost-effectiveness in Far Far West directly depends on passive skills. If you ignore Gold Tooth Joker or similar earnings bonuses, your income will noticeably decline over time, even during successful raids. Without proper leveling, your progress will stall.

For stable profits, it’s best to stick to a short-session tactic. Everything worked according to this principle: first, grab the most valuable items, then quickly check the nearest containers and immediately head to the exit point. In the harsh conditions of Far Far West, greed is far more costly than any firefight. Pure mathematics versus blind passion.
