The FACEIT esports brand has released new analytics for the seventh season of Counter-Strike 2 — and there is a real scatter with damage statistics.

In fact, the average damage rate from grenades in Season 7 is steadily increasing, but it is distributed extremely strangely. Representatives of the London—based platform, which has been running tournaments since 2012, noticed that most often “hayeshki” fly in at account level 9. At the same time, the picture in the Challenger elite rating is generally different.: There, 3 of the top 5 players in the world are snipers, who, apparently, prefer a rifle to throwing projectiles.
This is where the most interesting thing begins — the “dozen” and ladderer leaders had an abnormally low average grenade damage.
The best of the best in CS2 are now doing less grenade damage than regular level 5 players, which looks pretty wild — FACEIT has not yet explained the reasons for this phenomenon. Apparently, at the high-shooting level, the focus has shifted to other aspects of the game, or the meta has simply broken down. In general, the numbers don’t lie, but they make you think about how the pros use utilities in the current season.
It’s worth considering that there’s not much time left for experimentation in ladderer.
The seventh season on FACEIT will officially end on April 21, 2026 — that’s it. By the way, snipers at the top of the Challenger are holding positions in all regions, despite the low effectiveness of their grenades. In fact, we see the complete dominance of personal shooting skill over the command use of consumables at the top of the rating.
It is logical to assume that the statistics will change by the season finale, but the current gap between levels 5 and 10 in terms of damage from “hayeshek” is, in fact, the main mystery of the patch.
