FACEIT platform tightens rules: players will have to update security systems
The FACEIT administration has announced major changes to the anti-cheat requirements. Without meeting the new conditions, access to the platform will be closed.
What exactly is changing? The list is published on the official website:
-
TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot have been mandatory since November 25, 2025. The good news is that 95% of users already have these technologies working.
-
IOMMU and Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) are more complicated here. Since August, these features are mandatory for top players (rating above 3000 Elo). By November, the requirement is spreading wider. Currently, about 60% of the audience has the functions enabled.
Goodbye, Windows 10. Since October 14, the platform no longer supports this OS – Microsoft has stopped releasing security updates. Now only Windows 11 is needed.
If your computer does not meet the new standards, the anti-cheat will immediately show an error. In November, the FACEIT team promises to publish a technical blog where they will tell you exactly how protection works and why it is evolving.
By the way, recently Team Spirit professional Miroslav zont1x Plakhotya launched a match on the platform for the first time since September.
Innovations will be introduced gradually, so developers will be able to respond more quickly to user problems. Everyone will receive a notification with instructions before the changes affect their account. A detailed guide is already available on the website.
FACEIT holds tournaments in Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends and other disciplines.
Another important point: on 10:00 a.m. New York (EST, UTC−5) November 19, a massive ELO reset occurred for all tenth-level players. The rating was reset for all top participants at the same time.
