Youtuber NefasQS claims to have gained access to Intrepid’s accounting data for more than 10 years. According to him, the documents show not just management errors, but systemic financial problems.
The most discussed is the expense list, which looks… strange, to put it mildly, for an MMO studio:

The most disturbing part is not the spending itself, but the movement of money. According to the author of the investigation, the reports show how large sums are received from investors, and then partially withdrawn on the same day as “shareholder loans.”
Such operations, even if they are formally legal, look suspicious from the outside, especially for players who invested in the project and waited for the stable development of the game.
And here it is important to understand the context: it is not just about numbers, but about trust. And now Ashes of Creation is clearly at a minimum.
Stephen Sharif responded to the accusations: “These are lies and manipulations”
The head of Intrepid, Stephen Sharif, reacted harshly to what was happening. He stated that all the accusations were based on distorted information, and NefasQS itself, in his opinion, had become a “mouthpiece” for other people’s interests.
According to Sharif, people involved in a legal dispute with the company are behind the leak. He emphasizes that the case is already being considered in the federal court, and such publications are an attempt to influence public opinion.
Simply put, there is not only a legal battle going on, but also a fight for reputation.

The situation became critical even earlier. In February, Valve quietly removed the game from Steam — just a few weeks after it was released in Early Access for $50.
