Summer Game Fest 2026 starts in a matter of hours. The event, which is without exaggeration called the main gaming event of the year. Yes, a couple of weeks ago I already passed the PlayStation State of Play — there was also a lot of interesting stuff there. But the stakes are higher now.

The organizers have already confirmed the participation of several projects: Among Us, CLUTCH, Star Wars: Zero Company and Blood Message. However, the main intrigue lies in the unnamed novelties and long—awaited remakes. Insiders are rocking the boat, and we’ve rounded up three of the most likely high-profile announcements.

Details of Hogwarts Legacy 2 and the connection to the series

Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software are really working on the second part. This was discussed back in 2024, and now new details are emerging. According to rumors, the release is scheduled for next year — right after the premiere of the Harry Potter series from HBO. A coincidence? Unlikely. Some sources claim that the plot of the game and the show may overlap.

But something else is more important. The sequel promises multiplayer, full-fledged Quidditch and the opportunity to visit Privet Drive with Diagon Alley. Fnats of the universe, get ready.

Rumors about a large-scale remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica

One of the most anticipated announcements is the remake of Code: Veronica. Kapcom allegedly made it her top priority. It is rumored that the project will surpass even the remakes of the second and fourth parts in scale. According to the leaks, the legendary duo Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Anpo are responsible for directing. The ones that gave us RE2 and RE4 in a modern guise.

What awaits us? A semi-open world, an expanded storyline, and lots of new content. Reliable insider Dusk Golem suggested that the announcement will be made at the Summer Game Fest. And in addition, Capcom may show the story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem — it is expected towards the end of the year.

Announcement of Cerulean Onslaught by the authors of FromSoftware

According to recent leaks, FromSoftware is preparing a single-player RPG with the working title Cerulean Onslaught. The setting is a dark fantasy, but with unusual mechanics. Players will sail the ocean on their own ship, landing on the islands. The vessel acts as a hub, like a Firelink Shrine, but floating.

Date of the announcement of the fighting game Injustice 3 from NetherRealm

About ten years have passed since the release of Injustice 2. NetherRealm Studios is silent like the guerrillas. Studio head Ed Boone recently mentioned that the team is working on a new Mortal Kombat, but not a word about the sequel to the superhero battle. But there is a caveat.

If you look at the cyclical nature of franchise releases, Injustice 3 should be next in line. Moreover, the game was featured on the resume of one of the Warner Bros. employees. Games. Rumors, leaks, hints — it’s all piling up. It is logical to assume that the announcement will happen right now.

Plot and scale of the new action game Star Wars Jedi 3

Respawn Entertainment, apparently, is preparing something big. Early reports hinted that the third installment about the adventures of Cal Kestis would be the biggest game in the entire series. Recently, insider Tom Henderson not only predicted the announcement at the Summer Game Fest, but also revealed a detail: there will be a time jump in the game. Cal will grow up.

Lucasfilm itself also makes no secret that there are many more stories about the Jedi ahead. So why not start right now?

Developers of the Bloober Team will present the Lazarus add-on

The Poles from the Bloober Team (yes, the ones who made the remake of Silent Hill 2 and Cronos: The New Dawn) have confirmed their participation in the Summer Game Fest. But the details were not disclosed. Of course, the leak happened anyway.

Apparently, we are preparing DLC for last year’s horror Cronos. The extension will be called Lazarus. The key art and the first screenshot have already gone online. However, it is possible that the studio will show not one game, but several at once.

Production of the iconic remake of Max Payne 1 and 2

Remedy on State of Play has pleased with a new trailer for Control Resonant — a storyline, with a release date of September 24. But they have another major project in development. A remake of the first two Max Payne.

It was recently announced that production has been launched. And it would be logical to see the first teaser at the Summer Game Fest. That noir soundtrack, slow mo, double barrels. The release of the remakes is rumored to be scheduled for 2027. So why not start warming up now?

Release Dates for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3

Square Enix and Creative Business Unit I are officially working on the final installment of the Final Fantasy 7 remake. The NateTheHate insider claims that the announcement will happen at the Summer Game Fest.

Iron logic: The original Final Fantasy VII was released in 1997. In 2027, it will be exactly 30 years. The release of the third part is just in time for the anniversary. So the announcement this summer looks more than realistic.

New Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet game from Naughty Dog

Many fans were surprised that there was no place on the State of Play for a new game from the creators of The Last of Us. Naughty Dog announced Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet a long time ago, but there is almost no official news. The release is tentatively scheduled for 2027.

Perhaps Sony specifically reserved this trump card for the Summer Game Fest. We hope so. Because I really want to see what it is.

Presentation of four new Marvel Games action games

Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games has become one of the main stars of State of Play — finally showed the gameplay, revealed the details. But according to one insider, there are as many as four Marvel universe games coming this week.

What else? Various studios are in development: Marvel’s Blade from Arkane Studios, Marvel’s Iron Man from Motive Studios, and Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra from Skydance New Media. Wolverine has already fired back, so it’s time to pay attention to the rest.

Rumors about the existence of a Half-Life 3 shooter on the show

What is a major exhibition without rumors about Half-Life 3? Summer Game Fest is no exception. But this time it’s more serious. The host of the show, Jeff Keeley, has been actively hinting at some kind of announcement over the past couple of weeks. And most importantly, Half-Life 3 was supposedly supposed to be confirmed back at The Game Awards 2025 — in the same place where Kili was the host.

Several insiders claim that the game exists, is in a playable state, and the release will be timed to coincide with the launch of the Steam Machine. Maybe today is the day?

What will be shown at the Xbox Games Showcase?

Jeff Kiely’s broadcast only works as a warm-up for the real show. From June 2 to June 8, gamers will enjoy a packed marathon of 18 events, from niche indie screenings to large-scale presentations at the late E3 level.

You don’t have to leave immediately after the SGF Live final. In just a couple of hours (June 5 at 19:00 ET / 01:00 CEST), the Day of the Devs starts. This cozy non-commercial showcase is being assembled by the guys from Double Fine and iam8bit. About 20 titles will be shown. What’s cool: some games will traditionally receive a shadow drop. The developers will simply upload them to the stores right during the broadcast. No long warmups.

On Saturday, June 6, the degree of pathos will subside a little, but you definitely shouldn’t skip this day. At 18:00 CEST, the maximum chill Wholesome Direct will begin with a pack of cute releases. But closer to the night (23:00 CEST), GamesRadar+ editors will roll out their Future Games Show. The world premieres and exclusive gameplay footage of Exodus have already been announced there. Yes, the very sci-fi RPG that people from BioWare are actively sawing at right now.

Sunday (June 7) can easily outbid the opening of the festival in terms of hype.

Xbox Games Showcase event

At 19:00 CEST, Microsoft will enter the market with its Xbox Games Showcase. The corporation has already staged a bunch of “first gameplay screenings” from both internal studios and partners. Immediately after, without smoking breaks, Gears of War: E-Day Direct will be launched. We are waiting for an in-depth analysis of the prequel of the cult franchise. Well, the PC Gaming Show is reserved for dessert at 21:00 CEST. It will traditionally be hosted by Sean “Day[9]” Plot. We look forward to honest conversations with developers and powerful announcements of PC exclusives. By the way, this Sunday duet from the Xbox Showcase and PC Gaming Show often bypasses the main stage in terms of performance. This is where projects that simply didn’t have enough airtime from Kili usually shoot.

Schedule of all Summer Game Fest broadcasts

  • Day of the Devs (June 5 at 19:00 ET / 01:00 CEST). Focus on selected indie from trusted authors.
