The developers at Playground Games have scattered several radio towers across the Forza Horizon 6 map, each one a key to valuable bonuses. The main goal is the 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE, but there are also other treasures: the Naoshi mural, the “Search” achievement, and access to the EventLab. However, there aren’t just one tower—there are two groups of them in different parts of Japan, and access to one is blocked until you obtain the Gold Wristband. I’ve collated data from five guides, walked the map myself, and compiled it all into a single table so you don’t have to jump between gray and red-and-white poles.
The first thing to understand is that a radio tower isn’t Tokyo Tower. In FH6, there are two types: tall red-and-white masts and a squat gray one standing next to the red-and-white one. The gray one is your main landmark. It’s located on the western border of the Otani region, near the crossing to Shimanoyama. The easiest way to get there is from the Chiheisen Scramble festival site—head west, past the farm, then turn onto the dirt road, and you’ll come to a fence. Just beyond it are those same pair of towers.

What do radio towers look like in FH6, and how can you tell them apart from other landmarks?
The red and white towers in Otani are visible from afar—they’re tall, with flashing lights. But the car treasure isn’t hidden near them, but near a separate, slightly smaller gray tower. It’s not particularly noticeable unless you know where to look. Nearby are some wooden pallets and a small building that looks like a store or restaurant. This is the Mazda RX-7 location.
There’s also a second location—Legends Island—in the center of the map (southeast). There are radio towers there too, but they’re part of the “Search” challenge and require a gold bracelet. Without one, you simply won’t be allowed onto the island. So if you’re just starting out, forget about Legends Island—earn your reputation first.

Why search for radio towers: treasures, challenges, and rewards
Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE—a treasure car near the gray tower
Approach the gray tower in Otani and you’ll see a Mazda RX-7 parked there. This isn’t just any car, but a treasure car from the “Explore Japan” series. Claim it, and it’ll be added to your garage. Note: there’s often a red tower nearby, but the car is specifically near the gray one. Don’t confuse them.

Naoshi Mural and Photo Challenge
Slightly north of the towers, on the wall of a building, is a mural depicting Naoshi—a key object for the “Explore Japan” photo challenge. Take a photo of it to receive additional influence points and unique cosmetics. Many players pass by, but they shouldn’t—it’s one of the easy ways to level up your region exploration.
The “Search” Achievement on Legends Island
Once you have the Gold Wristband, head to Legends Island. There, you’ll need to find all the radio towers on the island—there are three or four, the exact number depends on the version of the game. Completely exploring them earns you the “Search” achievement and access to an exclusive EventLab competition. Incidentally, this island often hosts temporary events, so the towers there are more than just decorations.
Secrets of the Location: What Else Are the Radio Towers Hiding
Near the gray tower in Otani, you’ll notice wooden pallets—they’re not just for decoration. Driving an SUV onto them will grant you a small bonus to your Drift skill—a sort of Easter egg from the developers. And the building nearby isn’t just a store: behind it, there’s a passage to a short dirt track that leads to a hidden chest with credits. I checked—the chest only appears after you pick up the Mazda RX-7. As for Legends Island, in addition to the towers, there are several hidden boxes with tuning options. They’re easy to miss if you’re focusing only on the towers. So, here’s a tip: first, walk around the entire island, mark all the towers, and then start collecting the loot.

Note: Information about Legends Island and Gold Wristband is collected from gaming media — there is no official confirmation from Playground Games regarding these conditions yet, but all relevant The guides agree.
FH6 Radio Tower FAQ
I found a red and white radio tower, but my car is missing. Where’s the error?
The Mazda RX-7 is parked at the gray tower next to the red and white one. Look for the smaller gray mast—it’s a little to the side, near some wooden pallets.
Can I access Legends Island without a Gold Wristband?
No, the island is closed until I receive the wristband. You get it after completing the main questline in the Otani region.
How many radio towers are there in the game?
The exact number is unknown, but there are at least two groups: in Otani (a couple of towers) and on Legends Island (3-4). There may be more hidden ones, but they haven’t been documented yet.
