The fourth biome in Saros — the Swampy Marsh — welcomes the player with more than just a toxic swamp beneath their feet. At the end of the area, a swarm of flying creatures awaits, reminiscent of a cross between a squid and a swarm of insects. This is the Legion, and it fights differently than the previous bosses.
The Legion has plenty of weak points, but the tricky part is that not all of them actually affect the health bar. We will explain what to look out for and how to avoid wasting your attempt.

Legion Fighting Tactics and Phase Progression
Phase One: Focus on the Red Core and Weapon Selection
Remember the key: you can shoot at anyone, but the three health bars are tied to only one creature — the one with the red glow. The others can be destroyed as well: this will reduce the amount of projectiles you will take to the face. However, they respawn quickly, so focus on the red target.

For a strong weapon, choose the Oppressor. For a primary weapon, choose any rifle. This is your minimum for a comfortable playthrough.

Optimal Leveling Level and Build for Killing Legion
Defeating Legion does not require high-quality rolls or an ultimate build, but entering the arena empty-handed is a questionable idea. Experience shows that the boss can be defeated on the first try if you have a working combo for survivability and focused damage. The golden rule here is simple: focus on the central glowing core and ignore the smaller retinue.
The optimal entry point is to have basic tools unlocked for the current biome. Make sure your gear level matches the average for the zone, otherwise the battle will turn into a dull battle of “damage sponges.” Saros experts unanimously agree: the Crossbow is your best friend; it is worth keeping it in your inventory until a higher-level version drops. Prominence or any other explosive Power Weapon is ideal for the Power slot. These are the kind of guns that allow you to effectively pierce the boss’s center through a swarm of small mobs.

The Best Gear and Guns for Farming Legion in Saros
Legion is a kind of test for the synergy of your gear, not just a test for high DPS. The boss severely punishes those whose guns do not reach the core or who waste precious time shooting down endless minions. Comfortable gameplay here is built on three pillars: an accurate primary weapon, an explosive device for the damage phase, and the habit of always keeping your crosshair on the red zone of the central target. If these conditions are met, character level becomes secondary.
When the swarm flies from place to place, it scatters yellow projectiles. They are easy to outrun, as they do not homing. Far more dangerous are the moments when all the creatures line up in a tight formation, stare at you, and flash blue and red. Immediately after that, a volley. And repeat this three times in a row.

Tip: if you have time, put your shield under the blue projectiles. They will reflect and recharge your power meter. Cheap and cheerful.
Another attack: a series of red homing projectiles. The swarm forms a tight group and flashes only red. If you are confident in parrying, counter them with a well-timed punch. But it is much easier and safer to stay away.

How to Survive a Ring Attack and Evade the Swarm

The main creature separates from the swarm. The others encircle you, follow you, and fire red projectiles one after another. Before each shot, the creatures’ heads flash red. Parrying is not an option here — quick jumps between waves are essential. Yes, you can try to shoot some of the creatures, but they respawn, and you are wasting time and attention. It is better to focus on the rhythm of your jumps and finish the phase.
Second Phase: Using Overload and Dodging

During the second phase, the swarm sometimes forms a star and begins firing straight lines of red projectiles. There is no homing — run and dodge to the side. Everything else is unchanged: the Legion repeats its familiar attacks from the first phase. By the way, use Overcharge as early as possible — it will recharge faster.
Phase Three: Defense Against Enhanced Homing Attacks

The boss will not add any new moves, but he will upgrade the old ones. Remember: instead of three packs of red homing projectiles, there will be seven. We recommend moving to the edge of the screen, turning toward Legion, and dodging directly in front of him. The main thing is to stay away from the projectiles. The ring attack will also speed up. The red projectiles will fly noticeably faster — eyeball to eyeball. The rest of the battle follows the same pattern. Keep hitting the glowing head. Then you will deal with Legion pretty quickly.
