In 2013, battles with legendary ships were the final test for Jackdaw captains. In the 2026 remake, the test became tougher. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced retained the original’s four naval bosses, but reworked their AI, rewards, and mechanics, and also added a fifth—HMS Ipswich—in the new endgame chapter, “A World Without Gold.” That’s five ships, four battles, and one achievement, “Devil of the Caribbean,” for sinking them all.
The main thing to know before you start hunting: in Resynced, preparation is everything, not improvisation. While in the original, you could get by with a half-leveled ship, this isn’t the case. A fully upgraded Jackdaw, all elite blueprints, and all five officers are not a recommendation, but a requirement for survival. Three in particular: Lucy Baldwin (perfect block, negates damage), Padre (ramming dash—now an officer skill, not a reward for defeating all bosses), and Tobias Smith (additional cannon volley).
And one more detail that many guides don’t mention: the appearance of legendary ships is tied to capturing forts. If you don’t capture a fort in a region, the boss won’t appear. This isn’t a bug; it’s a mechanic in the remake.
Below is the full map: coordinates, tactics, rewards, and the best order to defeat these sea monsters.
Table of Contents
What you need to know before battling legendary ships
Before you pull the helm toward any of these giants, run through this checklist:
-
Jackdaw maxed out – all elite blueprints installed
-
All five officers recruited and assigned to the ship
-
Holds stocked with ammunition
-
Hull repaired to perfect condition
Don’t even approach without this. Legendary ships in Resynced are endgame content. Trying to approach them with a half-empty vessel is guaranteed to send you to the bottom in a couple of minutes.
About charge ramming. In the original, it was unlocked after defeating all the legendary ships. In Resynced, this skill is given by Officer Padre during his quest chain. So don’t wait until you’ve sunk all the bosses – level up your officers now.
All Legendary Ships – Coordinates, Tactics, and Rewards
La Dama Negra is the easiest, but most treacherous

Coordinates: 240, 72 – southwest corner of the map, Serranilla region
Difficulty: 1/5. This is the easiest of all the legendary ships in Resynced.
Tactics: La Dama Negra is a long-range mortar specialist. Her sides are heavily armored, but her bow and stern are vulnerable. The main goal is to get behind her stern and pound her with the bow chasers. Stay as close to the ship as possible: at a distance, she outperforms you with mortar salvos, but uses them less frequently up close. When a ship stops for a mortar salvo, that’s your chance; she becomes a stationary target. Don’t forget about the swivel guns for vulnerable spots.
Reward:
-
12,000 reals
-
Helm, hull, sails, figurehead of La Dama Negra
HMS Fearless and Royal Sovereign — brothers in arms

Coordinates: 811, 858 (according to some sources, 811, 855) — northeastern corner of the map, Eleuthera region
Difficulty: 2/5. A battle with two ships sounds terrifying, but in reality, it’s one of the easiest battles.
Tactics: Two rules. First, never get between them, or they’ll destroy you with crossfire. Second, deal damage to both ships evenly. Why? When one sinks, the other sets itself on fire and begins ramming you with redoubled fury. If the other ship is low on health by this point, you’ll have time to finish it off before it deals critical damage. Use mortars when the ships are turning in sync, and don’t forget about the Padre’s ramming dash.
Reward:
-
12,000 reals
-
Sails, hull, wheel, and figurehead of the HMS Fearless
-
Model ship “Brothers in Arms”
El Impoluto — the ramming madman

Coordinates: 115–117, 841–842 — northwest corner, Dry Tortugas region
Difficulty: 4/5. One of the two most difficult bosses in the game.
Tactics: El Impoluto chases you in a fixed cycle: charge, ram with his head, then move out of range of your cannons. Your weapon against this tactic is mirroring. When he rams, ram back, simultaneously using incendiary cannonballs. When he moves out of range, hit with mortars. And most importantly: a perfect block from Lucy Baldwin. Each ram from El Impoluto deals colossal damage, and without a block, you won’t survive. Composure and proper block timing are the keys to victory.
Reward:
-
12,000 reals
-
Sails, hull, wheel, El Impoluto figurehead
HMS Prince — a ghost in the fog

Coordinates: 854, 55 — southeast corner, Navassa region
Difficulty: 4/5. Along with El Impoluto, this is one of the most difficult bosses.
Tactics: HMS Prince is a ghost ship. Every time you take down a third of its health, it disappears into the fog and begins firing mortars at you. During these phases, your goal is to survive, not attack. Furl your sails, maneuver, dodge mortar fire, and block anything that can’t be avoided. Tip: At the beginning of the battle, mark HMS Prince with your spyglass. Even after it disappears from sight, the mark remains on the interface and helps you track its position. When the ship returns, immediately close the distance with a ramming dash and hit it with incendiary cannonballs.
Reward:
-
12,000 reals
-
Sails, hull, wheel, and figurehead of HMS Prince
-
“Prince”-themed estate decoration
HMS Ipswich is a newcomer that does not respawn

Appearance: During the endgame chapter “World Without Gold,” available in Sequence 11
Difficulty: 2/5. The easiest of all, despite its armor.
Tactics: HMS Ipswich is heavily armored and difficult to penetrate with regular cannonballs. The secret lies in fire barrels. Wait for the ship to drop them overboard, then detonate them with a swivel gun. The explosion causes massive damage to the underwater hull. Stay behind the Ipswich’s stern to avoid broadsides and block mortar strikes. After 10-12 barrel explosions, the ship will anchor—this is your signal to finish it off with mortars.
Important: Unlike all other legendary ships, HMS Ipswich DOES NOT respawn. So don’t miss.
Reward:
-
HMS Ipswich model (single reward—no real money or cosmetics)
How to unlock legendary ships — Fort-specific unlocks
In Resynced, legendary ships don’t spawn in the open sea from the start. Their appearance is tied to capturing forts in the corresponding regions:
| Ship | Region | Fort |
|---|---|---|
| La Dama Negra | Serranilla | Serranilla Fort |
| HMS Fearless & Royal Sovereign | Eleuthera | Eleuthera Fort |
| El Impoluto | Dry Tortugas | Dry Tortugas Fort |
| HMS Prince | Navassa | Navassa Fort |
| HMS Ipswich | Port Royal | Appears during the main story |
There are 11 forts in the game, and capturing each one not only unlocks the boss but also provides permanent leveling bonuses. So don’t try to find ships before you’ve cleared a region—they simply won’t be on the map.
What order should I play the legendary ships in?
The recommended order is from easiest to hardest:
-
La Dama Negra – a warm-up boss that teaches you how to use your stern and keep your distance.
-
HMS Fearless & Royal Sovereign – a dual-role battle that teaches you positioning and damage distribution.
-
HMS Ipswich – you can play it earlier, but it’s tied to the endgame, so it’s logical to play it after the main four.
-
El Impoluto or HMS Prince – these two are roughly equal in difficulty. El Impoluto requires a perfect block, while HMS Prince requires patience in fog phases. Play the one that’s more relatable to you.
-
Save the second of these two for last.
And yes, all legendary ships except HMS Ipswich respawn. If you lose any cosmetics or just want to replay the battle for fun, just return to the coordinates. Sometimes a ship doesn’t appear immediately—if you delve into the interface, you’ll notice that you need to sail to a point or even quickly travel to another port and return to trigger respawn.
Rewards for defeating all legendary ships
For each ship: 12,000 reals + unique cosmetics for the Jackdaw (sails, hull, helm, figurehead). The exception is HMS Ipswich, which only rewards the ship model.
For sinking them all: the “Devil of the Caribbean” achievement.
Total reward: 48,000 reals (excluding Ipswich). This is enough for any upgrades and ammunition. The cosmetics make the Jackdaw quite powerful, but also the most legendary.
Next step: max out the Jackdaw, recruit all the officers, capture forts in the Dry Tortugas, Serranilla, Navassa, and Eleuthera regions—and go hunting. Start with La Dama Negra, consolidate your success with dual-wielding, and then take on El Impoluto and HMS Prince. And remember: in Resynced, it’s not the fastest shooter who wins, but the best prepared.
