Richard “Xizt” Landström, coach of the legendary CS2 team Ninjas in Pyjamas, has taken on a new, most important role yet – that of a father. The Swedish specialist, whose gaming career has become a benchmark for many, is now embracing the responsibilities of fatherhood. He shared the happy news of his son’s birth with fans on his microblog X (formerly Twitter).
The young father generously shares his emotions from the first day with his followers directly from his social media page.
“A few days ago, our little Tim was born. Mom is doing great, and the baby is doing well. I must admit, playing with him at night has been great endurance training for me. My nighttime and sleep schedule have been completely disrupted, but I’m incredibly happy!” Richard wrote.
For 33-year-old Landström, this is perhaps the most exciting challenge yet. His esports career, filled with victories as part of titans like NiP itself, Fnatic, and Dignitas, has certainly hardened him and prepared him for the stress resilience so essential in match preparation and now in family life. Incidentally, it was this joyous occasion—the birth of a son—that caused the Ninjas in Pyjamas coach to miss the recent PGL Masters Bucharest tournament. Without their mentor, the team finished in 15th–16th place, which only underscores his value to the team. For a professional player accustomed to a strict daily routine, balancing family and professional responsibilities is a new chapter in his life.
