Odencat Studio has rolled out an official announcement: a pixel mix of cuteness and horror called Mousebusters will reach PC in early summer. The Steam release is scheduled for June 11, and the price tag will be quite affordable $12.99. If you prefer portable gaming, you’ll have to wait a bit — the version for the Nintendo Switch will be released a little later. For those who doubt, the developers have already prepared a free demo with a text translation into Russian.

Ghost Hunting in Mouse Form: Mousebusters Gameplay Details
The plot revolves around an ordinary move to a new apartment building, which instantly turns into a nightmare. The main character catches a mysterious curse and turns into an ordinary mouse. However, they won’t leave him in trouble. A local veteran rodent named Chef offers a deal: a magic wand in the form of a return to human form in exchange for general cleaning of the building from otherworldly evil spirits.

Each apartment here is a unique paranormal zone. Local spirits literally parasitize on the fears, resentments and complexes of residents, so players will have to turn on detective mode. Track down your neighbors, collect dirt, and look for mental vulnerabilities.
When the target is determined, heavy artillery is used — a special ray pistol issued by the Boss. We are waiting for dynamic “Thrilling Exile Battles” (VBI), where you need to dodge spectral attacks and target weak points of bosses. At the same time, the Chief himself will coordinate actions from headquarters, giving hints and caustically commenting on what is happening. Closer to the finale, the story will clearly go beyond the banal hunt — it seems that the big-eared mentor is hiding much darker secrets than he says.
Rules for streamers and accessibility
The developers from Odencat immediately stated that they fully support the content creators. Mousebusters streams, letsplays, and reviews are officially allowed and welcome.
The project is positioned as an easy adventure filled with interactive mini-games, parodies and funny dialogues. At the same time, you will not be required to have experienced shooting skills. The authors have provided flexible difficulty settings so that even casual gamers and broadcast viewers can easily enjoy the plot and atmosphere.
