The continuation of the adventures of Nora— a German researcher lost in another dimension, has finally acquired a specific number. The latest trailer has confirmed that Industria 2 will be released on April 15, 2026 on PC — on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store. The price tag has not yet been revealed.

Let me remind you: the sequel was announced in March 2024, less than three years after the debut of the first part. And all this time Bleakmill was actively rummaging through the project, sometimes throwing up details.

Last month, for example, the developers reported on support for ultra-wide monitors, tightened up the interface and promised DLSS version 4.5 Super Resolution right on release. They also talked about weapon pumping stations — now they are called ATLAS Vault. And that’s where the important detail for lore lies.

What is ATLAS and what does Petrichor have to do with it?

In short, during the occupation of Nordvold, ATLAS artificial intelligence squeezed out everything from people that it considered useful (or dangerous for itself). Weapons, tools, all sorts of things — and put them in underground containers, the so-called Crypts. “In fact, the Crypt distributes items in exchange for Petrichor, a liquid that can be collected throughout the game,” the authors explained.

Let me remind you: our heroine is trying to return home to East Berlin in 1989. But ATLAS (the same AI) controls the territory through its robots. And yes, he doesn’t really want to let her go.

24 cards instead of six — and the demo is already on Steam.

The first Industria had six levels. In the sequel — 24. Moreover, large locales were cut into smaller fragments for performance. Tellingly, the demo is already available on Steam, so you can touch it with your hands before the release.

By the way, the system requirements have also been published. Nothing out of the ordinary, but not for weak PCs either.

Minimal:

  • Processor: Intel i5-8600 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Video card: Nvidia RTX 2060 Super (8 GB) or equivalent
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • OS: Windows 10 / 11 (64 bit)
  • DirectX: 11
  • Space: 20 GB

Recommended:

  • Processor: Intel i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Video card: Nvidia RTX 3080 or equivalent
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • OS: Windows 10 / 11 (64 bit)
  • DirectX: 12
  • Space: 20 GB

Therefore, Bleakmill is not just finishing the sequel — they are seriously expanding the universe. And if the demo seems familiar to you, don’t be surprised: the same gloomy atmosphere, but on a much bigger scale. What’s next? We’ll see. The release, by the way, is promised this year. You’ll have time to try it out.

Well, if the demo version got you hooked, here’s how the sequel differs from the original in gameplay and atmosphere.

Industria 2 vs the first part: almost everything has changed

The first Industria was released in September 2021. Six levels, four hours, Unreal Engine 4. No crafting — and almost zero live characters. Bleakmill themselves had no illusions: “we are indie as it is,” said co-founder David Jungnickel before the release. The game was taking its toll on the Cold War atmosphere and narrative. But the gameplay is… minimal. Five barrels without leveling, a linear corridor, enemies are only robots. And everything.

The sequel rewrites this skeleton almost entirely. The key differences are shown in the table below.

Industria vs Industria 2 Comparison

Parameter Industria (2021) Industria 2 (2026)
Engine Unreal Engine 4 Unreal Engine 5.6
Maps / Levels 6 24
Crafting None Yes (ATLAS Vault + Petrichor)
Weapon Upgrades None Silencers, Ext. Mags, Spec. Attacks
Interactive NPCs Hardly any Yes (dialogue choices)
DLSS None DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution
Ultrawide None Hor+ Scaling Support
Playtime ~4 hrs ~4-6 hrs (Bleakmill official estimate)

The fundamental shift is genre. The first part is a linear narrative shooter for Half-Life. The second adds horror mechanics, crafting and stealth. The Russian-speaking players who passed the playtest put it bluntly: “radically different gameplay.” And it’s not polishing — it’s a change of key. At all.

Should you go without knowing the first part? Technically— yes. The sequel feeds backstory through notes and dialogues. But Nora’s motivation and the essence of her guilt towards ATLAS will be revealed in full force only if you are aware of the events of 1989 from the original. By the way, the first Industria can now be snatched for pennies on Steam. The timing allows you to complete it in one evening — and immediately dive into the sequel with the right context. Characteristically, it’s even more interesting this way.
