Pearl Abyss just released a new roadmap for Crimson Desert—in it, the developers outlined what to expect from the game up until September 2026. And this isn’t just a “we’ll tweak something.” Judging by the list, the team is seriously planning to rebuild entire sections of the project.
As a reminder: Crimson Desert was released in March of this year. And in just a couple of months, Pearl Abyss has essentially rebuilt the game from scratch—especially tightening up the difficulty and endgame. But it looks like this is just the warm-up. Now they’re planning a new wave of updates, and it’s much larger.

What’s included in the updated Crimson Desert roadmap?
The document was published in the latest Dev Update. It looks like the developers are trying to cover everything they can:
-
Story improvements
-
Re-Blockade update
-
New combat content
-
Cross-save
-
Gameplay features for Damian and Oongki
-
Quality of life in non-combat activities
Key highlights: story scenes will be more coherent—they want to convey Cliff’s story more clearly. Damian and Oongki will finally get more gameplay mechanics tailored to their needs. They also promise tweaks to trading and farming. A minor detail? For those who spend hours in the endgame, no.
An important point: there are no strict dates for each update. Everything will be delivered gradually, from June to September. Pearl Abyss says the updates should be equally useful for both newcomers and those returning after a break. Details on each item are promised to be revealed as the release progresses.
And finally, something many have been waiting for. The DLC is officially in development. Details are scarce so far, but the fact is important: what was just a plan a year ago is now actually moving forward. So Crimson Desert will live on and grow with content for a long time to come.
Cross-saves and secondary character progression
By September, cross-saves will be added to Crimson Desert. Players will be able to seamlessly switch between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC—all progress will remain intact. For an open-world game where playthroughs easily stretch into hundreds of hours, such a feature has long been more than just a bonus, but a sign of a serious approach.
But that’s not all. Damian and Oongka will finally receive updated mechanics. The developers want these characters to feel as confident on the battlefield as Cliff. Right now, they’re, let’s say, a bit out of the spotlight. And after the update, new tactical variations will appear—someone will definitely want to rebuild their build. “Our updates don’t end with the content listed here,” noted Petra, Community Manager at Pearl Abyss.
Why Crimson Desert’s support is called unique?
Players and analysts agree on one thing: such post-release maintenance is rare for a single-player game. Since March, Pearl Abyss has essentially rebuilt entire sections of the project: reworking the difficulty, tweaking the endgame, and adding content. And yet, they haven’t forgotten about the peaceful life in Payvel.
Plans include quality-of-life improvements for trading, farming, fishing, and hunting. A trifle? For those who spend hours on non-combat activities, no. It seems the developers are simultaneously closing the doors for hardcore dungeon delvers and those who simply enjoy trading or fishing. A rather mature approach.
