The game was released by Zynga, but was developed by the British studio NaturalMotion, previously known for Star Wars: Hunters.
However, Gearbox Software does not act as a full—fledged developer – the studio helps with the creative part, including ENT, design and atmosphere of the franchise.
The release itself was as inconspicuous as possible. No trailer, no posts on Borderlands social media — especially against the background of active support for Borderlands 4, it looks unexpected.
What is known about Borderlands Mobile: gameplay, loot, and modes
The project is positioned as a free shooter with RPG elements, where the key focus is on weapon extraction and character leveling.
Players are offered the familiar formula of the series:
Hunt for legendary loot, customize the game style and have dynamic shootouts.
The game has already announced various activities, from story missions to individual modes like “Circle of Carnage” and “Tower of Terror.” All of this is adapted to mobile devices, with a fast pace and short gaming sessions.

At the moment, the game is available exclusively on the iPhone and only in the USA. When trying to launch it from other regions, an error appears — access is simply blocked.
