Skirk and Escoffier are officially in business: the second phase of the 6.4 update in Genshin Impact has started. Along with powerful Cryo-ladies, Charlotte, Kandakia and Dahlia looked into the banners. Although the meta-Node Edge is now heavily revolving around Lunar Reactions and the mystical Sabbath, the good old Freeze refuses to retire. It seems that HoYoverse decided to remind us who the real “iceberg” of the industry is here.

Skirk and Escoffier: Is it worth doing a Cryo duet in 2026?

The heart of any relevant frieze band today is Escoffier. The popular chef from Fontaine is working hard: she simultaneously buffs allies, heals the group and steadily throws Cryo-status out of her pocket. In his niche, Escoffier is perhaps the best support, ideally complementing hypercarry like Skirk, Risley or ageless Ayaka.
In the second half of patch 6.4, players are actually offered to assemble a turnkey team. If you already have Furina in your roster, then Skirk in conjunction with Escoffier will turn any abyss into a skating rink. In case there is no five—star chef in the pool, there is Charlotte – she is quite capable of playing the role of healer. Dahlia is also useful as a budget Hydro applicator if the main support slots are occupied in other packs.
The weapon incarnation is specific this time — Azure Radiance (signature sword Skirk) reveals its potential only on its owner. But the Symphonist of Aromas, the spear of Escoffier, is a real find. This is an extremely versatile “stick” that will sit perfectly on a Xiang Ling, a Rose garden or even an Iansan.
Skirk Build Guide: The Best Artifacts, Weapons, and Rotations

The main thing to understand about Skirk is that it is not a universal “plug” in any squad. In front of us is a hypercarry rigidly sharpened for Cryo-Freeze, which vitally needs the right “sticks” and a precise sequence of buttons. If you build a build on your knee, even a bundle with Escoffier won’t take out the damage in actual content like Abyss or Imaginarium Theater — the numbers just won’t fly.
The best artifacts on Skirk

The basic and most stable choice is the complete set of “Finale of Depth Galleries” (4 parts). The set covers all the needs: there is a Cryo-damage bonus, and acceleration of normal attacks, and ulta enhancement. What is convenient is that the passive is hanging on the Skirk almost constantly due to the mechanics of its energy. If the “Finale” is still occupied by another character, you can temporarily interrupt the “hodgepodge” 2 + 2. Mix two pieces for Cryo-damage (“Lost in a Blizzard” or the same “Finale”) with any pieces for attack power — “End of the Gladiator”, “Memories of Shimenava” or “Night Whisper” will do.
For those who do not part with Furina and are used to watching the HP bar, there is an alternative — the Twilight Court Hunter full set. The set significantly accelerates regular and charged jabs, simultaneously flooding the crit-chance. This is especially true if the Azure Glow stubbornly does not want to fall from the banner. At the same time, the “Hunter” tightly binds the heroine to packs with constant fluctuations in health (hello, Furina and Shen He), so for classic Freeze control, many still choose 4 parts of the “Finale” – this way the damage is more stable, and the gameplay is devoid of unnecessary fuss with HP microcontrol.
According to stats, everything is standard, but it is critical for the final DPS:
-
The clock is a % attack only.
-
The Cup is a Cryo damage bonus.
-
Cap — crits (balancing for sabstats and weapons).
In the lower stats, we give priority to crits and attack percentage. Energy recovery for Skirk is the tenth thing; she feels great at the base values.
Weapons for Skirk

Let’s be honest: Azure Radiance is an absolute top-1 for Skirk. The sword perfectly synergizes with her mechanics and significantly raises the “ceiling” of damage in a pack with Escoffier and Furina. But knocking out a signal at any cost is a dubious idea if the budget is limited.
Are you planning to save money? Feel free to put the heroine on alternatives. Any universal cary swords will stand out perfectly from the “fives”: Azure Guise, Heavenly Sword, or even the “flex signals” of other characters that are lying around in the inventory. Among the four-star options, look for attack options and crits with simple passivity conditions. The main rule is to forget about energy recovery swords; ulta is not the main source of damage for Skirk.
Skirk rotation in the freeze team

A typical button cycle in the squad with Escoffier is built around the “flash” window of Skirk. First, we distribute all possible buffs, and only then we release the main star to close the combo of normal attacks.
The scheme looks like this:
-
Hydro-overlay: Furina or Dahlia trigger a permanent Wet status.
-
Preparation: Escoffier passes skill and ulta — hangs Cryo, debuffs enemies and launches heal.
-
Boost: Shen He or Rosaria press their buttons to boost damage.
-
Exit: Skirk flies into the field, activates the rack and issues a series of attacks on frozen targets.
The key point is timings. Overexpose the Skirk on the field or linger after the Escoffier buff, and the damage will decrease significantly. The ideal rhythm should coincide with the rollbacks of Furina’s abilities, so that each “flash” of Skirk falls on the peak of amplification under the full control of Freeze.
Who to expect in versions 6.5, 6.6 and 7.0: plans for primogenes
Is it worth spending the source stones now? It’s an open question. The release schedule for the coming months looks tight.:
-
Version 6.5: We are waiting for the debut of Linnea, as well as the appearance of Nefer, Chaska and Lauma. If you are interested in the reactions of Moon Blooming or Crystallization, save the twists.
-
Version 6.6: Insiders point to Nicole and Loen’s exit. This is a must-have for those who rely on Cooking or Coven Witch squads.
-
Version 6.7: There are persistent rumors about Sandrone’s return as a playable character.
-
Version 7.0: Global update with Snow, which will turn the game around.
We are particularly pleased with the development of the Prayer Chronicles. After Sumeru in 6.0 and Mondstadt in the current 6.4, players froze waiting for the regional banners of Li Yue, Inazuma or Fontaine. HoYoverse is clearly using this mechanic to relieve the schedule of the reruns before a large-scale trip to the Queen.
The current banners will last until April 8, 2026. If you don’t have enough primogems, and Skirk or Escoffier are needed “here and now”, you can always look at the ggsel marketplace — there the purchase of the Moon or BP by UID will be significantly cheaper than directly through the game. The main thing is to make it to the release of Linnea.
