The fourth patch of the third version of PUBG Mobile brought a serious change to the ranking mechanics, especially affecting the mechanism of team selection and climbing the ladder of top positions. The Krafton Studio listened carefully to the players’ criticism and revised the Promotion Matches system in the Ace, Ace Master and Ace Dominator sections. The new build will be deployed in the third month of 2026 at the same time as the festive package for the ninth anniversary of the Evolving Universe project, however, active discussions in the community are focused specifically on changes in the ranking system.

Major Shifts in Promotion Matches (Update 4.3)
Before the release of the latest patch (version 4.3), players faced excessively harsh criteria at the top of the report card, which practically closed the path to ascension without a win-win streak. The current version has become much more loyal:
-
Ace rank retention: 3 consecutive matches in the top 15 (on Erangel) or top 8 (on Livik). The minimum score is 4,199 RP. The team is Korona 5 (no edits).
-
Ace Jump → Ace Master: previously, 4 successful matches were required, in the latest build — 3 (top-12 / top-6). The threshold number of ranks has risen to 4699 RP. The status of the teammates has changed to Korona 5 (it used to be AC+).
-
Ace Master Jump → Ace Dominator: the most significant relief is that instead of 5 wins in a run, you now need four (top-10 / top-5). The RP requirement was raised to 5200+ (it was 5199+). Companions must be AC+ (previously required AC Master+).
According to the developers’ offstatement, in order to take off on Ace Dominator, you need 5,200+ RP points plus four consecutive Promotion Matches with the right results at the top of the rating. Insurance is valid: one unsuccessful match is allowed without resetting the counter.
On forums and social media, top cyclopes note that this is the most significant relief for the top of the ranking (top 5000) since the launch of Promotion Matches in version 4.2. It has become possible to break through to Dominator without having to play 5 perfect rounds in a row – now four will be enough, which reduces the luck factor and psychological pressure.
Old versus new: what has shifted (review from the community)

The biggest relief came from the demands on the final jerks. Previously, the system was almost beyond the control of average top-tier players, but now the barrier is much lower. A detailed analysis shows that the production dates have been shortened, and the requirements for partners have been retrained towards greater flexibility. For many, this means a real chance, not just a mathematical artifact.
Rank reclassification: old titles under new labels
The patch includes an adjustment of the correspondence between the names of ranks (most noticeable at the middle and high levels):
-
Conqueror, Ace Dominator & Ace Master (4800–5200) → Platinum 1
-
Ace & Ace Master (4700–4800) → Platinum 2
-
Crown 1 → Platinum 3
-
Crown 2–3 → Platinum 4
-
Crown 4–5 → Platinum 5
-
Diamond → Gold 1–2
-
Platinum → Gold 3–4
-
Gold → Gold 5
-
Silver/Bronze → no shifts
This rebranding has improved the perception of your own promotion: it has become clearer where you are and how many steps to the top.
Night mode and what’s coming next

The developers stated that the night interface (Dark Mode) will launch within 2-3 days after the main release of version 4.3 (March 2026). Currently, the screen contrast is being adjusted (especially noticeable on the “More” button in the main menu), and dark designs are being introduced. Many participants complained about the excessively bright interface — the upcoming changes will help reduce visual fatigue during long gaming marathons.
Further adjustments are expected in the coming month: correction of the mechanics of selecting allies, correction of matchmaking, calibration of the Evolving Universe content and possible adjustments to the RP output. Players are actively asking to return the switch function between light and dark modes — now the focus is only on the dark version.
Is it worth climbing the rankings right now?
Version 4.3 is a clear profit for the masters of the upper echelon. Reduced match requirements + insurance against loss of progress = realistic prospects to achieve Ace Dominator and Conqueror. If you’re stuck at the Ace Master level, it’s the right time to attack. Just keep in mind: even in top lobbies, Victoria depends on positioning on the map, well-thought-out movements and well-coordinated interaction.
Win and meet me in the top 500 ranking!
