Who will be the best CS player in 2023
As we approach the end of 2023, it’s time to take stock of the outstanding achievements of CS:GO players during this period. One of the bright performers who stood out among the others was Robin “ropz” Cool from FaZe Clan, who won the majority of the clutches. His extraordinary skill on the map is admirable. At the same time, the event of the year was that for the first time s1mple was outside the list of the best HLTV players. Let’s look at the main results of this year!
Robin “ropz” Cool from FaZe Clan took first place in the ranking of the best clutch players of 2023 in CS:GO. Over the course of last season, he managed to win his team a whopping 68 rounds in tough 1vX situations. It should be noted that this impressive data only applies to matches involving the top 20 teams competing in LAN tournaments.
Of those 68 successful rounds, 37 were won against one opponent, while the remaining rounds were won by ropz against two or three opponents. Following ropz in the clutch rankings are Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, Helvijs “broky” Saukants, Guy “NertZ” Iluz and, finally, Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia.

Ropz, ZywOo and m0NESY dominate by all criteria
Ropz, ZywOo, m0NESY and other celebrities continue to demonstrate their dominance in the CS:GO rankings. Ropz stands out with a total kill count that exceeds 3000, making him the top player in this statistic. He also ranks second in KD differential and headshots per round.
However, if you pay attention to the statistics of clutches by map, ZywOo turns out to be the best, surpassing even ropz, and losing only to sh1ro and NertZ. FaZe Clan’s clutch results are undeniably impressive, and it’s fair to consider them the best team in the CS:GO world at the moment. Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev, who is currently in the status of an inactive player in Natus Vincere, is not included in the list of the best HLTV players for the first time in the last 5 years. Since 2018, it has continuously held the leading position, but this year everything has changed. This is largely due to the fact that he is currently on temporary leave, giving himself a break.
Why did s1mple lose his position?
Why did s1mple fall so much in the rankings? Usually the Ukrainian player dominated in all major categories, but this time he only took 5th place. s1mple recently announced his suspension and hiatus. It is currently unknown when he will return.
s1mple’s best performance this year was his 3rd place in the starting duel success rate with an impressive 62.4%. However, m0NESY and dev1ce are still ahead of him in this category.
HLTV will soon release its annual Top 20 Players of the Year, and s1mple fans are already preparing for the fact that he won’t make the Top 3 this time around. But who knows what next year will bring; perhaps 2024 will be a time of new triumphs for s1mple.
