Visually, the world of Zezura looks impressive even in the early access state. The game has moved from Unity to Unreal Engine 5, which is noticeable: underwater cliffs with vertical cliffs, bioluminescent caves with crystals, thermal geysers, coral plains with soft diffused light. It would be unfair to ignore the backstage of this release — it turned out to be quite loud. In 2025, information appeared about the conflict between Unknown Worlds and the publisher Krafton. According to the dismissed studio executives, they were promised a bonus of $250 million upon successful achievement of certain indicators. According to them, Krafton intentionally delayed the release of the game from 2025 to 2026 in order to avoid paying out.

The case went to court. In March 2026, a Delaware court ordered Krafton to reinstate CEO Ted Gill, and extended the window for calculating the bonus until September 2026. In fact, the court sided with the development team.
Why is this important for the players? Because the delay, which was publicly explained as a “lack of polish,” actually had a corporate connotation. At the same time, the additional year of development objectively benefited the game: the launch build received more biomes, creatures and content than originally planned.
