I’m not usually a fan of competitive games – I have enough stress and competitive spirit in real life. But here I was hooked by the fact that you can just run with bots, and the matches promised to be short and not exhausting. I decided to give the game a chance. By the way, the gif on the cover is a pretty intense round, no worse than a real fight.

As soon as you launch the game, a short but clear tutorial starts without unnecessary questions. It quickly introduces you to the course – explains the basic rules. It is not difficult to master them, but putting them into practice will be much more difficult. Especially when different game modes and mods intervene – but more on that later.

The basic rules are simple:

• Controls – arrows, nothing extra.
• The main thing is not to stop. Stop moving – health begins to rapidly decline.
• Jumping is not a full-fledged movement, so standing still and jumping will not save you. You will die.

As soon as everything is selected and confirmed, the real meat grinder begins. Rounds will replace each other, following the specified order of mods. Before each of them, the game will show a short description of the current rules for a few seconds and, if mutation is enabled, will tell you what you will have to deal with.

Victory will go to the team that first gets the required number of points. So it is better to immediately join the game – it will be fun and tense.

The game has many modes, and almost all of them are real challenges. They don’t let you relax: you can fly out in literally a couple of seconds. But this has its own advantage – the rounds are very short, so you don’t even have time to get upset. Lost? No problem, a new fight begins in a couple of moments. Such dynamics keep you on your toes and don’t let you get bored. Game variety is a separate topic. One time you run away from explosive barrels, another – from crazy spiked balls, spider-like drones or rockets flying from the sky. And sometimes heavy blocks start falling on your head. There are dozens of scenarios, and each next round can surprise you in its own way.

The map is not only randomly selected, but can also be slightly rebuilt right during the game. The main rule almost always applies: stand still – you will die. You need to constantly move. Sometimes special conditions appear, for example, the “fly or die” mutation – and then you can’t do without jumping. At the end of each round, teams are awarded points: the winner gets 5, and the losers get a little bit, if, for example, they are not the first to be eliminated. Even if you take second place, you can snatch a couple of points. Everything continues until someone gets the required number of points for a common victory.

And after the session, there is a nice bonus: a system of daily rewards. And here is an interesting nuance – only victories in rounds are counted, not entire matches. So every small victory is important, and the triumph in the overall standings is just a reason for pride, but nothing more. Your account level is upgraded for your success in the game. With each level, there are prizes. For example, for the second level, you can get a zombie skin in a stylish box.

The game has an interesting feature – a separate tab for creating your own modifications. I don’t really understand this myself, but it all looked pretty exciting. For those who like to tinker with the settings – there is clearly room for creativity.

Pros that make the game catch your attention:

• The picture pleases the eye – stylish, neat graphics, it’s nice to watch.
• Music on topic – the soundtrack is not annoying, but on the contrary, helps to immerse yourself.
• Constant surprises – almost every round is different from the previous one. It will not work to get used to one scenario, you constantly have to adapt.
• Rounds are short – literally a couple of minutes, and that’s it. There is no feeling of fatigue or monotony.
• You can play with friends and with bots – the choice is always yours.
• Customizable session length – you want 5 minutes, you want 50.

Features that not everyone will like (but are not annoying either):

• You can level up only for victories.
  On the one hand, this can be a bit stressful. On the other hand, it is still possible to win. And, what is important, no achievements affect the process itself. The game plays great even with basic settings, without any bonuses.

Cons?

• Honestly? I didn’t find any obvious cons. Maybe because everything is presented easily and does not try to be a “big” project.

Bottom line: this is a small but extremely lively entertainment. Constantly changing conditions, fast dynamics and an easy approach to defeats make the game especially cozy. Even when you lose, it doesn’t hurt. In a minute you’re back in business.
