PArcane Mastery
Ryze's spells deal extra damage based on his Bonus Mana, and he gains a percentage increase to his maximum Mana based on his Ability Power.
the Rune Mage
Ryze plays like a machine gun in a class full of artillery. Where most mages fire a spell and wait, his kit is designed around relentless spell rotation: the passive component of Overload resets its cooldown every time he casts another basic ability, so a practiced Ryze weaves Q casts between every other button, pumping out damage far faster than his cooldowns would suggest. His other passive, Arcane Mastery, ties his damage to bonus mana and converts ability power into extra maximum mana, making him a uniquely mana-stacking scaler.
The combo language is precise. Spell Flux debuffs a target so that his other spells gain bonus effects against it; Rune Prison normally slows, but against a Flux-marked enemy it roots instead, and Overload hits harder on Fluxed targets thanks to his ultimate’s passive. The result is a short-range dueling pattern — E to mark, W to root, Q over and over — that melts single targets and shreds through skirmishes. Casting two abilities also charges runes that grant Overload a burst of move speed, helping him kite or chase between rotations.
Realm Warp is what makes Ryze strategically unique: a portal that teleports every nearby ally across terrain after a delay. It enables flanks, cross-map objective steals, Baron sneaks and dramatic five-man engages that no other champion can replicate. A mid-lane scaling pick with a 7 difficulty, Ryze rewards players who enjoy fast, rhythmic combo execution and macro-level creativity, while accepting real fragility — his short range keeps him permanently in danger.

QPassively, Ryze's other basic abilities reset the cooldown of Overload and charge a rune. When Ryze casts Overload with 2 runes charged, he gains a brief burst of Move Speed. On cast, Ryze throws a charge of pure energy in a line, dealing damage to the first enemy struck. If the target has Flux on it, Overload deals extra damage and bounces to nearby enemies with Flux.
WRyze traps a target in a cage of runes, damaging them and slowing their movement. If the target has Flux on it, they are instead rooted.
ERyze releases an orb of pure magical power that damages an enemy and debuffs all nearby enemies. Ryze's spells have additional effects against the debuffed enemy.
RPassively, Overload deals even more damage against targets with Flux.On cast, Ryze creates a portal to a nearby location. After a few seconds, allies standing near the portal are teleported to the target location.
