PHextech Affinity
Gain Move Speed while near allied towers and turrets deployed by Heimerdinger.
the Revered Inventor
Heimerdinger plays League as a zone-control puzzle. Rather than winning through raw combos, this mage-support hybrid — seen in both mid lane and support — claims patches of the map with H-28 G Evolution Turrets, rapid-fire cannons equipped with a secondary pass-through beam attack. Enemies who walk into his turret nest take continuous punishment, and enemies who refuse to walk in concede the territory entirely. Setting up and defending these nests is why his difficulty rating sits at 8 despite a low mechanical burden.
The rest of the kit protects and extends the nest. CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade stuns anyone directly hit and slows the surrounding area, punishing dives onto his turrets; Hextech Micro-Rockets fire a long-range converging volley that pokes from safety or shreds targets standing at the convergence point. His passive, Hextech Affinity, grants move speed near allied towers and his own turrets, helping the low-range inventor reposition within the fortress he builds.
UPGRADE!!! is where the decision-making peaks: it empowers his next spell, and choosing an upgraded turret, rocket volley, or grenade mid-fight separates good Heimerdingers from great ones.
He excels at holding chokepoints, defending towers, and dismantling dive compositions that must fight inside his setup. Between placed turrets, he is a short-ranged mage without escapes, so hard shoves and long-range siege can pressure him. Players who enjoy preparation, area denial, and outthinking rather than outdueling opponents will feel at home here.
