Magic Chess: Go Go to Debut in Auto Chess at the 2025 SEA Games
According to the official release, MOONTON’s new auto chess game will appear at the opening ceremony of the sports forum in the capital of Thailand on December 12, 2025.
Instead of a classic tournament format, the organizers have planned an exhibition match featuring representatives from Indonesia, Malaysia, the host country, and the Philippines.
In addition, the regional meeting program includes medal-winning esports disciplines: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Free Fire, and FC Online.
“We were honored to see MCGG on a platform as large as the Southeast Asian competition,” said Ray Ng, who oversees the esports environment at MOONTON Games. “We’ve always viewed MCGG as more than just gameplay. It’s about creating an interconnected environment that opens the door to talented newcomers.”
Since its May release, MCGG has been actively building a specialized esports infrastructure. In September, alongside the Season 3 update, the project launched the first in-game qualifiers for world championships.
GO1 World Championship: Magic Chess: Go Go World Championship
In addition to participating in the regional forum, MOONTON Games announced the GO1 World Championship—the debut offline MCGG championship at the international level. Twenty-four participants will compete for the title of the strongest.
The decisive stage of the GO1 World Championship is scheduled for January 25, 2026, as part of the M7 Carnival, a fan festival dedicated to the M7 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship.
At the carnival, fans will be able to watch both tournaments together, along with interactive activities and an entertainment program.
Gao “Skyhook” Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games, commented on the upcoming event: “The launch of the GO1 World Championship is a source of pride for the entire team. It’s exciting to see how the emerging esports ecosystem is bringing participants to the global level, discovering hidden talent from all over the globe.
This competition reflects our vision of an inclusive and fair esports scene where anyone can reach the pinnacle of excellence.”
