The developers from Valve seem to have decided to step on the gas and officially shifted the deadline for the end of the current winter Dota Plus season. Now the final is on March 5th.
Such a rush on the part of Gabe and the company is a great reason for Dota 2 fans to start building theories about something really big. By the way, the season was originally supposed to last ten days longer, but Valve revised their plans in favor of an earlier update. Immediately after the end of the season, all paid subscription holders will receive a fresh combat report — there will be all the statistics and well-deserved awards for the past months of the game.
The developers themselves have not explained in any way why they needed to steal this week and a half from us. Apparently, March 5 will be the starting point for something big – it is likely that a serious content patch awaits us, the content of which is still kept in the strictest confidence.
One important point to consider is that such calendar maneuvers have long been the norm for Valve. We remember that the end of the fall season was also postponed — then the date was postponed from December 9 to December 11, which, by the way, caused a lot of controversy in the community.
As a result, we have a classic Valve situation: a minimum of specifics— a maximum of intrigue. In addition to the reports, the game will feature new quests and treasure troves, so you definitely won’t be bored.

To be fair, postponing it to an earlier date is always about preparing the ground for a new stage, actually.
