Capcom officially unveiled a gameplay trailer for Yasmine, the first DLC character in Street Fighter 6’s fourth year of support. A Filipino warrior skilled in the traditional martial art of eskrima and the karambit knife, she will join the game on August 3, 2026. Along with her arrival, the developers will release a balance update for the entire roster of fighters. Sales of the fighting game itself have already surpassed 7 million copies.

In the story, Yasmine is originally from the Philippines and trained with her older brother under their grandfather’s guidance since childhood. However, her brother suddenly disappeared, forcing her to abandon her karambit training. She later stumbled upon videos of a French supermodel on FooTube, inspiring her to pick up her weapon again and set out to search for her missing relative.

What Yasmin Showed in the Trailer: Breaking Down Her Key Moves and Fighting Style

Based on the gameplay trailer, Yasmin is a fast-paced rushdown fighter whose tactics revolve around constant pressure and confusion. Her escrima style in the game is adapted through acrobatics, high speed, and virtuoso short-blade combat. A key mechanic is the so-called Bayani Mode (Hero Mode), which enhances her special moves. It can be activated by successfully landing certain attacks or by activating a level-one super art.

Here are the main moves that Capcom showed in the trailer and described in the accompanying blog:

  • Daloy ng Tubig – A fast, slashing attack with forward movement, great for starting or extending combos.
  • Alon – A finishing move after Daloy ng Tubig; the ending varies depending on button strength, and successful hits activate Bayani Mode. Talim ng Hangin is a low, spinning slide that either closes the distance or provokes the opponent into attacking; it also activates Hero Mode upon impact.
  • Mukha ng Langit is a forward somersault jump that allows for a mix of attacks: either a slash or a backflip.
  • Lipad ng Agila is a multi-hit aerial kick combo.
  • Pangil sa Likuran is a flying projectile that moves at variable speed, allowing Yasmine to pursue the opponent and break down their defense.

Her super skills are also impressive. Hiwa ng Kalangitan (Level 1) sends the opponent into the air, slams them back into the ground, and immediately transitions Yasmine into Bayani Mode. Nakatagong Lakas (Level 2) grants a temporary buff, allowing her to use special moves while in a powered-up state, and adds the dash attack Linya ng Liwanag, which goes behind her back. And finally, Pamumukadkad ng Sampaguita (Level 3) is a spectacular finisher where Yasmin spins her opponent, gathers energy, and literally obliterates them with a powerful strike.

How to get Yasmin after release, and what’s included in the Year 4 Passes?

Yasmin will be available on August 3, 2026, on all platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. There are several ways to obtain the fighter.

Owners of the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass will automatically gain access to Yasmin on release day. Other players will have to purchase the character separately with Fighter Coins from the in-game store. In addition to Yasmin herself, three more fighters are announced for Year 4 support: Arjun, Bosh, and a guest character, Tifa, from the Final Fantasy VII Remake universe.

Yasmin will have two base costumes. The first is an escrima-style combat outfit, and the second is a school uniform, which can be unlocked by filling the acquisition meter in Avatar Arcade mode or purchased with Battle Coins.

Incidentally, Yasmin’s release will take place just a few days after Evo 2026, the world’s largest fighting game tournament. Fans are already speculating whether they’ll reveal more Season 4 content there. For now, all that’s left is to rewatch the trailer and get used to the idea that Street Fighter 6 will soon feature a Filipino schoolgirl wielding a karambit and cutting down opponents like a hurricane.
