LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will add Absolute Batman and Absolute Catwoman skins—right into the base game. TT Games seems to have decided to incorporate everything fans love about the Dark Knight: the movies, the comics, Arkham references, and even the recent “Absolute” DC Universe. The latter, incidentally, was one of the main sources of inspiration.
The studio confirmed this on social media with a short but powerful video. The image shows Batman from the Absolute Universe: a massive bat symbol on his chest, poldron-like shoulder pads, and the signature long ears on his cowl. He looks brutal, even in the signature LEGO style—in the video, the hero unceremoniously dispatches enemies. The skin, apparently, is unlocked as you progress through the game.
Absolute Batman is no random choice. Over the course of 19 issues, the series has built a strong fan base. The world there is crazy, dark, and very different from the classic Batman. TT Games is clearly keeping up with trends: few expected this particular skin to appear in the game. And frankly, it’s a cool surprise.

By the way, it won’t be limited to Batman. Legacy of the Dark Knight will also feature an Absolute Catwoman skin. Details are minimal so far, but the fact itself is exciting. One can only wonder – will the developers even get around to Robin? His recent comic-book designs with giant mechs are just begging to be turned into LEGO bigfigs. That would be epic.

Overall, it feels like the game will be the richest collection of references for Batman fans. It doesn’t matter what you love more – Nolan films, the Arkham series, or modern comics. TT Games is pulling everything into the project, and that’s a real treat. Especially for those who are equally passionate about superheroes and LEGO bricks.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is scheduled for release on May 22, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned for release by the end of 2026.
