The Polish studio has confirmed its participation at gamescom 2026—and has prepared much more than just a trailer. From August 25th to 30th, CD Projekt RED will be fully present, from the main stage at Opening Night Live to daily streams and private demonstrations at booths. The priority project will be the third story expansion for The Witcher 3, Songs of the Past. Don’t expect The Witcher 4, though—the studio has made that clear.

Songs of the Past DLC Presentation at Opening Night Live
The Geoff Keighley Show starts on August 25th at 8:00 PM Moscow time. The expansion will premiere there. However, CD Projekt RED used the term “first look” in its announcement, without specifying whether it would be a trailer or gameplay footage. So, let’s keep our expectations in check: the show will definitely happen, but what exactly viewers will see remains to be seen.
REDStreams Stream Schedule on Twitch and YouTube
For those who can’t make it to Cologne, the studio is launching a special stream series—REDStreams. Broadcasts will run daily from August 26th to 30th from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Moscow time on YouTube and Twitch. The program includes game presentations, developer interviews, special guests, and behind-the-scenes footage. The full schedule is promised to be published on the first day of the exhibition.
Closed Gameplay and Demo Shows in Exhibition Areas
Gamescom attendees have a special surprise in store. CD Projekt RED is organizing guided presentations—demonstrations with developer commentary, but no hands-on experience.
In the business zone from August 26th to 28th, booth B065 in Hall 4.2. The entertainment zone will be open from August 26th to 30th, at booths B030 and A031 in Hall 8.1. The difference is significant: the business zone screenings are more intimate, while the entertainment zone will feature continuous screenings throughout the five days.

News about The Witcher 4 and the game’s development status
Yes, fans were expecting it. Yes, there were rumors. But CD Projekt RED made it clear: the main star of the streams is Songs of the Past. No specific news about the next installment is expected. Surprises, of course, can’t be ruled out, but counting on them is a losing strategy.
The Witcher 3 Songs of the Past DLC Release Date
The release of Songs of the Past is scheduled for 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A more precise date will likely be announced at Gamescom, but it’s not guaranteed to happen during the ONL.
Graphics and new DLSS technologies in the expansion
There’s also talk that the expansion could bring technological upgrades. The last major update for The Witcher 3 was released in 2022, adding ray tracing and DLSS 3. Since then, NVIDIA has made significant strides: DLSS 4.5, full path tracing, and frame generation. All of this is already in place in Cyberpunk 2077. It’s possible that Songs of the Past will receive a similar set of improvements, but there’s no official confirmation yet. So for now, it’s just a matter of “it would be logical.”
