British developer Playground Games and publisher Xbox Game Studios have finally revealed what we’ve been waiting for: a full map and the first six minutes of gameplay for Forza Horizon 6. The game takes place in Japan, and this isn’t just “another location.”

The map itself, according to the developers, is the densest and most vertical in the series. It features the famous intersections of Tokyo, the Japanese Alps, and picturesque tracks previously only seen in documentaries. And all of this is seamless, with no loading times.

Forza Horizon 6 Map

What’s in the gameplay? We were shown a six-minute introduction—intense, full of local flavor. The player starts out as a simple tourist who dreams of being at the Horizon Festival. And in the very first races, they’ll have to compete… with a “bullet train” (yes, that same Shinkansen). It looks spectacular. The festival itself is confident: “This celebration of automotive culture and music is starting with a bang, and the sixth installment isn’t going anywhere.” Judging by what they showed, you’re right.

What else is important:

  • Over 550 cars at the launch, including the cover-worthy 2025 GR GT Prototype and 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser.
  • Changing seasons – including cherry blossom season (no doubt about that, it’s Japan).
  • They promise a verified image of the country and – attention – a Russian text translation.

Pre-orders are now open. Three editions: Standard – $69.99, Deluxe – $99.99, Premium – $119.99. The latter will grant early access, starting May 15th. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass holders will receive the game on release day at no extra cost.

Forza Horizon 6 releases on May 19th for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, and S. The PS5 release isn’t until 2026. Incidentally, the system requirements were already released at the end of March, including “extreme” settings with ray tracing. So, prepare your system hardware in advance.
