Karel Kohlman, the game designer of the RPG game Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its sequel, joined CD Projekt RED studio. Information about the transfer of this specialist from the Czech gaming industry was published by Coleman himself on his LinkedIn account, which immediately caused a wave of discussions among fans of the series.

Kohlman’s Experience: From Warhorse Studios to the Development of The Witcher 4

At Warhorse Studios, Coleman worked his way up from screenwriter to senior game designer, leaving a significant mark in creating the hardcore mode for the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance. In the sequel, he worked as the lead task designer, building complex story campaigns and quests with an extensive narrative. This is exactly the experience that is critically important for the new CD Projekt RED project.

In the Warsaw studio, Kolman took the position of senior quest designer. Given the company’s current priorities, his work is directly related to the development of The Witcher 4, an ambitious sequel to the iconic series.

The Witcher 4: What is known about the new Witcher saga

The Witcher 4 (codenamed Polaris) will be the first game in the new Witcher trilogy. The project is being created on the Unreal Engine 5 game engine in collaboration with CD Projekt RED and Epic Games, which promises a significant technological leap.

The creative director of the project has already confirmed that the open world of exploration will be the largest in the series, significantly surpassing the “Wild Hunt” in terms of area and content saturation. The arrival of Coleman strengthens the team precisely in the field of creating memorable quests — the very component for which players appreciate the Geralt franchise.

However, the release should not be expected before 2026: the studio is focused on quality, not on release speed.
