PEAK 1.28.a: Colorblind mode and major bug fixes in the patch - Image 1
7 months ago vpesports

The developers of PEAK, a fantastic rock climbing simulator, aren’t sitting idle and continue to develop the project alongside players. Last night, they released update 1.28.a, which added a colorblind mode—something many have been waiting for! Now, even those with color vision issues will be able to clearly distinguish all elements, colors, and markers in the game. It might seem like a small detail, but for many, it’s a huge plus.

Additionally, the update fixed a ton of bugs and optimized the game for better quality. The developers have worked on balance, made tornadoes more realistic, and fixed several annoying bugs. Key changes include:

  • The first tornadoes now appear more quickly.
  • The time between subsequent storms has been slightly longer.
  • Tornadoes are now much less common in the Hell Biome.
  • The labyrinth will no longer become blocked after entering a tomb.
  • Eggs in nests are now heavier, requiring you to think carefully about how best to proceed.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the stamina icon from being awarded.
  • The Scoutmaster can now climb walls again.
  • The backpack now behaves normally and doesn’t disappear when you fall.
  • We’ve fixed various visual glitches and occasional freezes when loading after a tornado.
  • There will no longer be a freeze when placing the Scout Cannon on a jellyfish.
  • We’ve also removed the annoying blinking countdown at the end of the game.

With each new version, PEAK gets better: the gameplay is more comfortable, the balance and optimization have been improved, and the game atmosphere is more vibrant.

PEAK is currently only available on Steam for PC, with the text translated into English. The game has a very good rating (93%) based on over 116,000 reviews. Players actively share their ideas, and the developers listen to them.

At the end of September, PEAK released a major update with three minigames: basketball, grand chess, and photo booth. This added more fun to the game and now also made it more accessible.

It seems the developers aren’t just fixing bugs and errors, but are committed to making PEAK one of the most supported games on Steam.
