League of Legends Women’s League: Riot Games Launches Game Changers in EMEA

Riot Games has officially launched its first professional women’s league in League of Legends, Game Changers. The exciting announcement was posted on the official esports section of the company’s website, which has caused a chain reaction among fans and players alike.

The Game Changers League (LGC) is launching in the EMEA region and will feature all-female teams. Although the league is starting on a small scale, Riot Games has big plans for the future, although they want to expand and improve the esports scene.

The first tournament under the LGC auspices will be LGC Rising, which will be held online. It will feature eight teams, as well as three guaranteed slots for additional rosters from organizations already participating in the LEC. The remaining invites will be awarded through qualifiers that will take place in August. LGC Rising will run from September 13 to October 30, with matches taking place every weekend. The grand finale of the tournament will take place during Paris Games Week, which promises to be the best ending to the event.

Riot Games has already launched programs aimed at supporting women and minorities in the esports community. The Game Changers format has successfully demonstrated its commitment to diversity and inclusion in Valorant through regular splits and a dedicated World Championship. This initiative in League of Legends marks a significant step forward in creating new opportunities for female players in esports.
