Battlestate Games has launched a pre-season event in Escape from Tarkov—the spawn rate of bosses on all maps has been increased to 100%. The event is timed to coincide with the release of patch 1.1.0.0 and the first season of Kord Breach, which begins on August 3, 2026. The update was delayed from late July, as Game Director Nikita Buyanov announced on social media. Bosses are now better armed, their gear can’t be sold at the Flea Market, and Night Raids have become more dangerous—though the reason hasn’t yet been revealed.
The event has already stirred up excitement in the community: entering a raid now means an almost guaranteed encounter with a local boss. On Factory, this means Tagilla, on Customs, Reshala, on Woods, Shturman, and so on. An important detail: the 100% spawn rate only applies to bosses that spawn normally on a specific map. Not all bosses will be present in any one location at the same time—only the ones that are supposed to be there. But they’re more heavily equipped than usual, so every firefight turns into a true battle for survival. And yes, loot from them can no longer be sold on the flea market—it can only be used or saved for future stages.

What’s known about update 1.1.0.0 and the Kord Breach season?
Update 1.1.0.0 is officially coming on August 3rd. The patch was originally planned for July, but was delayed a few days. It brings Kord Breach, the first season of Tarkov, to the game. The gist: you can create a separate seasonal character, choosing bonuses in some areas and negative effects in others to maintain balance. Those who want a classic wipe will get it through this system. Those who don’t want to lose progress will be able to continue playing with their main character.
In addition to seasons, the patch will overhaul the quest system, replacing rigid quest chains with more flexible progression tied to merchant loyalty levels. New weapons, customization options, and a ton of quality-of-life improvements will be added.

Battlestate Games published a list of items on social media, which was later removed. The list is as follows:

It seems there’s a deliberate idea behind this set. These items are tentatively expected to be part of the next stage of the pre-season event. The developers are hinting: stock up on gear from bosses; it’ll come in handy. What exactly to do with it hasn’t been explained yet, but it’s definitely worth having in your hands.
How to hunt bosses in Tarkov during the event?
If you plan to log in in the coming days, prepare to encounter a boss in every raid. They are better armed, more aggressive, and more dangerous than usual. Night raids have become riskier—the reasons haven’t been specified, but one can speculate on anything from AI buffs to new mechanics that are currently being kept under wraps.
The event will last until the update releases on August 3rd. So, you have a couple of days to hunt, collect the specified loot, and prepare for Kord Breach. Drop in, shoot, and take out—and don’t forget, the loot you get from the bosses is now yours to keep.
