Sony and Sucker Punch Productions announced the Complete Edition for Ghost of Yotei, which will include the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion and the Most Wanted survival mode. The entire package will be released on October 1, 2026, on PS5. The Complete Edition will cost $69.99, with an upgrade for $14.99 for owners of the base game. Owners of the original game will receive a free v.2.0 patch, which includes the Beauty of Yotei mode and quality-of-life improvements.

What’s included in the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition

The Complete Edition is the definitive version of Atsu’s adventure. It includes:

  • the main Ghost of Yotei game;
  • the Ghost of Yotei Legends co-op mode with up to four players and a raid;
  • the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion;
  • the Most Wanted survival mode;
  • all content from the Digital Deluxe Edition;
  • the Charm of Hokkyokusei amulet. Purchasing the Complete Edition gives you immediate access to the main game and Legends. The DLC itself will be released with a patch on October 1st.

Price and Purchase Options

The Complete Edition will cost $69.99 (approximately 5,600 rubles at the current exchange rate). If you already own Ghost of Yotei, you can upgrade to the Complete Edition for $14.99 (approximately 1,200 rubles).

The Ghost of Yotei upgrade is cheaper than the equivalent upgrade to the Director’s Cut for Ghost of Tsushima, which had an additional cost of $19.99. Sucker Punch has offered a more generous price for those who supported the game from launch.

Pre-ordering the Complete Edition or an upgrade before September 30th will grant you an early unlock of the Sakai Armor on October 1st—a reference to the Jin Family Armor from Ghost of Tsushima. According to the wording, the armor can also be obtained by playing the DLC; pre-ordering simply unlocks it immediately.

Edition Comparison

Edition Contents Price Who is it for?
Complete Edition Base game + Legends + Echoes of Sekigahara + Most Wanted + Digital Deluxe content + amulet $69.99 Newbies who want it all
Base game + upgrade Everything as in the Complete Edition $69.99 + $14.99 = $84.98 Those who have already purchased the base game
Digital Deluxe Edition Base game + Digital Deluxe content $79.99 Those who don’t need DLC

For new players, the Complete Edition is clearly a better deal than purchasing the base game and DLC separately. For owners of the base game, the $14.99 upgrade is a reasonable price for two major DLCs.

Echoes of Sekigahara Story DLC

Echoes of Sekigahara is a full-fledged story expansion, set in two timelines simultaneously. In the present, you explore a previously hidden valley in Ezo, once home to the mysterious Serpent and his loyal followers, the Vipers. There, you’ll also meet Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past who has arrived in these lands with as-yet-unclear goals.

Echoes of Sekigahara DLC

In the past, you’ll relive key moments in Atsu’s life: her participation in the famous Battle of Sekigahara and the events that preceded her return home for revenge.

The developers promise new enemies, heavy weapons, fresh armor sets, and dyes. It seems Sucker Punch has decided to go beyond simply adding a couple of missions and give players a full-fledged story arc with its own locations and mechanics.

Most Wanted Survival Mode [ADDITIONAL BLOCK]

Most Wanted is a new single-player roguelike survival mode. The mechanics are simple and addictive: you take on contracts, start runs, kill enemies, earn perks, and unlock additional characters.

The trailer already showed three fighters:

  • Atsu – a master of dual katanas;
  • Oyuki – fights with a kusarigama (a chain with a sickle at the end);
  • Nagato – uses a yari (spear).

According to the description, each character will offer a unique fighting style, and a system of perks and random bonuses will make each run unpredictable. The developers promise to reveal more details soon.

How Most Wanted differs from the main campaign?

The main difference is the structure. Instead of an open world and story missions, you’ll experience short, intense battle sessions with roguelike elements: death resets your progress, but unlocked characters and likely some permanent upgrades remain.

For those who’ve already completed the story campaign, Most Wanted is a great reason to return to the game and test your combat skills in a new environment. No cutscenes, no wandering around the map—just combat, contracts, and attempts to beat your own high score.

Free updates for all owners

Even if you don’t purchase the Complete Edition or upgrade, you’ll receive the free v.2.0 patch on October 1st, which includes a number of improvements.

What’s free for everyone:

  • Beauty of Yotei mode—a screensaver featuring views of Ezo for relaxation and taking new photos. Essentially, it’s an interactive screensaver that lets you enjoy the game’s beauty without having to run around the map.
  • Armor Appearance Preservation – now you can wear armor with the desired stats but retain the visual appearance of another set. This is a small but highly requested feature, especially for those who care about their character’s appearance.
  • High Contrast Option – Improves accessibility for players with visual impairments.
  • New tracks for Watanabe Mode (the exact mode hasn’t been specified yet, but it’s likely some kind of in-game activity).
  • New stamps in Photo Mode.
  • Additional cosmetic items for New Game+.
  • New trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.

Ghost of Yotei update

Thus, even without purchasing any DLC, the game will receive a significant update. It’s especially nice that quality-of-life improvements, like armor appearance preservation, are not tied to paid content.

Technical Details and Release Date

Main Release Date: October 1, 2026.

Important note: in some regions, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, patch v.2.0 with new content will be released on October 2nd. So if you live in these regions and plan to receive the add-ons on the global release date, it’s worth keeping this in mind.

Platform: PlayStation 5 only. No word yet on a PC version.

Downloading add-ons requires an internet connection and a PlayStation Network account.

Is the Complete Edition worth buying?

The answer depends on your membership status.

If you’ve never played Ghost of Yotei, the Complete Edition seems like the best option. For $69.99, you get everything: the base game, Legends, both add-ons, and the Digital Deluxe bonuses. It’s cheaper than buying the base game and then paying extra for an upgrade.

If you already own the base game, the $14.99 upgrade is a smart investment. You get two major expansions (the story and survival mode) plus all the Digital Deluxe content if you don’t already own it.

If you have the Digital Deluxe Edition, you only need to upgrade for the DLC itself. You already have the bonus content, so there’s no point in paying extra for the Complete Edition.

If you’re unsure, you can wait. Every owner of the game will receive the free v.2.0 patch with quality-of-life improvements and the Beauty of Yotei mode. You can decide whether to purchase the expansions after the first reviews and gameplay videos are released.
