On July 16th, alongside patch v41.20, the Hot Bat Summer event launched in Fortnite—and it’s already divided the community. Four summer DC skins—High Tide Harley, Chlorophyll Ivy, Coastal Catwoman, and Beach Bod Batman—were released in the store, and two of them received an age rating, a first for cosmetics of this type.

Chlorophyll Ivy is Poison Ivy in a green one-piece swimsuit. High Tide Harley is Harley Quinn in a white and blue bikini with red sunglasses. Western media have deemed Ivy’s look to be one of the most revealing skins in Fortnite history. And Epic Games, it seems, has realized this.

Why are Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy skins blocked in modes for players under 13?

The reason is the visual design. Both skins show significantly more skin than any other skin in the game’s history. Fortnite has significantly relaxed its character appearance guidelines over the past year: male skins finally got nipples, while female skins now have more pronounced shapes and the infamous jiggle physics. But even so, Chlorophyll Ivy proved to be a bit much.

Epic Games has blocked both skins from being used in modes rated under 13. This restriction primarily affects custom islands and lower-rated modes—there, Harley and Ivy in swimsuits are simply unavailable for selection. In the main Battle Royale modes, the skins can be used without restrictions.

This isn’t the first time Epic has restricted skins based on age—they previously did the same with Venom and Alien skins due to horror elements. But this is the first time something like this has happened in Fortnite because of “too revealing” designs. Players have already noticed the irony: “Fortnite is becoming a hot-dog game—I didn’t expect that.” Another joked: “Epic’s finance department finally realized that the family rating isn’t paying off.”

How much do the summer DC skins cost in Fortnite, and can you save money by buying a bundle?

Fortnite summer DC bundle

Each of the four summer DC skins individually costs 1,500 V-Bucks. The Ace the Bat-Hound companion costs 1,200 V-Bucks, and the Beach Buggy Batmobile costs 2,500 V-Bucks.

But Epic, as usual, is offering bundles. And here are the serious savings:

Fortnite Bundles — Summer 2025

Bundle Contents Price Savings
High Tide Harley & Sunflower Ivy Bundle High Tide Harley + Chlorophyll Ivy + Harley Floatie (300) + Harley’s Boogie Bat (500) + Carnation of Carnage (800) + Summer Snapper (800) + Lily Lounger (300) 2,300 V-Bucks ~46% (save ~2,000 V-Bucks)
Gotham City Summer Bundle Beach Bod Batman + Coastal Catwoman + Ace the Bat-Hound + 7 bonus items (Bats Floatie, Batman Paddle, Riptide Claws, Selina’s Tote, Beach Bats Kicks, Surf’s Up! Emote) 3,000 V-Bucks ~56% (save ~3,900 V-Bucks)

Full set of all Dataminers estimate that the event’s cosmetic items will cost approximately 5,800 V-Bucks. Final prices will be announced once the collection is available in the store.

The Hot Bat Summer event will last five weeks, until the end of Chapter 3, Season 7. The skins are already in the store and will be available until July 30th.

Both summer skins for Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are already in the game, along with a shirtless Batman, a swimsuited Catwoman, a flying Batmobile, and the new mythical Batman Sprite companion. Get them before they’re gone.
