Fortnite Runners’ third season has kicked off with a bang—straight from the massive Shattered Live Event, a complete island overhaul, a fresh Battle Pass, and a host of completely new gameplay mechanics followed. Perhaps the most striking feature of the new map is the return of Sprites. The developers haven’t just brought back old helpers, but also piled on some completely unique companions. Let’s explore how this system works, what bonuses they provide, and where to find them.

A complete list of Sprites in Fortnite Runners and their passive effects
You can find Sprites while playing on the island or summon them in advance through the dedicated Collection tab. The mechanics are simple: each companion takes up exactly one slot in your inventory and activates a special passive bonus while equipped.

Below is a complete list of the creatures Epic Games has added to the game so far:
Rare / Starter Sprites
-
Water Sprite A high-quality heal for the lazy – passively restores health to you and your teammates while you’re standing in water.
-
Fire Sprite. An excellent boost for aggressive gameplay. With it, every time you damage an enemy, you’ll trigger a powerful fiery explosion.
-
Earth Sprite. A real gift for loot lovers. Significantly increases the chance of getting rare items when opening regular chests.
Epic Sprites
-
Duck Sprite. Recharges shields while having fun – armor is restored when you use any emotes or play musical instruments.
-
Ghost Sprite. A tactical survival tool. Makes your character completely invisible or translucent while reloading your weapon.
-
Demon Sprite. The perfect choice for those who prefer to go all-out – every successful kill instantly grants you health and shields.
-
King Sprite. Significantly increases the damage the player deals with a pickaxe.
Legendary Sprites
-
Dream Sprite. Grants a random useful item for each new account level, and at max level, the companion is guaranteed to drop legendary loot.
-
Punk Sprite. The exact effect of this creature is currently being finalized by the developers.
Mythical Sprites
-
Zero Point Sprite. Automatically creates a protective bubble (Shield Bubble Jr.) around the player when using any healing items.
Cosmetic Sprites and Pilots for the Guardian
-
Pilot Styles. All the Sprites listed above (they can be obtained as customization for the Guardian after a successful extraction).
-
BurntPeanut. A purely cosmetic companion that does not provide any passive gameplay effects.
Obviously, the list will expand. Epic Games will likely be rolling out a fresh batch of creatures in the coming patches, so it makes sense to check this guide more often.
Where to find Sprites on the updated Fortnite map?
![]()
There are several ways to catch Sprites, and the map includes both random spawn zones and guaranteed drop locations. You can add them to your inventory in the following ways:
-
Exploring the island. These little helpers often wander randomly around the game world.
-
Searching locations. Sprites drop randomly from regular chests, but there’s a 100% chance they’ll be found in special Sprite Chests hidden in storage areas and major POIs (points of interest).
-
Extraction points. Look for creatures near extraction zones.
-
Menu screen. You can summon a Sprite right before the start of a match via the “Sprite Collection” tab in the main menu or immediately after a match—you’ll need accumulated Sprite Pollen to do so.
As soon as you spot the creature, simply hold down the interaction button—your partner will immediately jump into your inventory and activate their bonus. After that, it’s best to immediately run to the nearest extraction point. A successful extraction will permanently add the Sprite to your permanent collection, if you haven’t unlocked it yet.
