The launch of new content in Fortnite Runners has revolutionized the game—gamers are busy exploring the new island, testing out the Battle Pass, and testing out the latest items to quickly complete Victory Royale. If you want to get the most out of a match and quickly craft top-tier loot (including Sprites), your path leads directly to the underground safes. We’ve compiled all the relevant locations in one guide to help you navigate the map.

Where are all the vaults in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3?

The developers at Epic Games have hidden several types of stashes across the map. Inside, you’ll find your standard gaming paradise: rare chests, coveted Sprite chests, piles of Slurp barrels, and other resources capable of turning the tide of any shootout. Once you have the right lock in your inventory, the game automatically highlights nearby markers on the map. However, smashing through the first door you come across is pointless—the lock types are different everywhere.

To help you know exactly where to take your loot, here’s a complete list of locations for specific keys:

Fortnite vault locations map

  • Mile High Retreat Warehouse: Go underneath the warehouse building located directly southeast of the Lifty Lodge location. You’ll need a Rare Vault Key.
  • Wonkeeland Outskirts: Look for a point southwest of this named area. The door can only be opened with a Rare Vault Key.
  • The Battlewoods: The stash is hidden southeast of this location. You can also get a regular Rare Vault Key here.
  • Shaken Sanctuary: The coveted room awaits in the southeast corner of the area. Have a Rare Vault Key ready.
  • Sunken Shores Gas Station: Look for the gas station northeast of the coast. It can be opened with a Rare Vault Key.
  • Shady Eyes Building: Go down to the basement on the east side of Heatwave Harbor. The lock is a standard Rare Vault Key. Frosted Flats Bunker: This is a more serious location. Look for the underground level in the eastern part of this point of interest. A Sprite Vault is hidden here, so you’ll need an Epic Vault Keycard.
  • Sinister Strip Podium: Another elite Sprite Vault underground, located directly beneath The Shape. The entrance is blocked until you retrieve an Epic Vault Keycard.

The industry never stands still, and Epic Games loves to drop hidden Easter eggs. If new secret basements are discovered on the island, we’ll update this article promptly.

How to quickly find vault keys in Fortnite?

In the current Fortnite Runners meta, the search mechanics have changed. Currently, two options are available: the standard Rare Vault Key (for basic loot rooms) and the Epic Vault Keycard (which unlocks top-tier Sprites). Previously, you could watch for drops at fixed locations, but that’s now gone. Now both items drop from chests completely randomly.

In short, it’s pure randomness. Blue keys drop reliably and frequently, but you’ll have to search for purple Epic Keycards. The logic is simple: if you want to break into an elite bunker, sweep the map and open every crate you come across. Our insider tip: for the Epic Keycard, focus on rare chests, where the drop rate is significantly higher. Good luck on the island!
