PGL distributed teams to RMR

Thirty-two European teams will be heading to Bucharest in the near future to compete against each other for a total of 17 available spots (16 teams plus a last chance opportunity) at the upcoming and inaugural CS2 major. Just moments ago, PGL conducted a draw and assigned the teams into RMR groups A and B. Interested to know which teams ended up in each group? Find out below!

PGL has distributed teams to two European regional Major Ranking tournaments

PGL has allocated teams for two European Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournaments that will precede the Copenhagen Major. These tournaments serve as the final qualifying stage for teams aspiring to compete in the year’s main event for this discipline.

A total of thirty-two teams from various parts of Europe will participate in the RMR qualification stage, which is set to take place from February 17th to 24th. Eleven teams received invitations based on their performance in the BLAST Paris Major, while the remaining teams had to earn their spot through closed qualifiers.

Each RMR tournament will consist of five rounds following the Swiss format (bo1), with only the knockout/major matches being played in a best-of-three format. The top eight teams will have the opportunity to progress to the Opening/Elimination stage of the Major, depending on their ranking in the Valve rankings. Meanwhile, teams finishing 9th to 11th will enter the Last Chance Stage, where they will compete for the final available spot.

The team placement has been a topic of intense discussion lately, and one team that has captured everyone’s attention is the Falcons. Sadly, they currently find themselves at the bottom of the RMR A rankings. It’s truly disheartening to witness their struggle, especially considering that the team is comprised of only two players from the former ENCE squad. As a result, they haven’t been assigned an official rating, which has understandably generated concerns and disappointment among fans and analysts.

It’s difficult to imagine the emotional toll this situation must be taking on the Falcons team. The countless hours they’ve dedicated to training and the dreams they had for this competition are now overshadowed by their current position. Yet, it’s during these challenging moments that teams often discover their inner strength and resilience. It will be captivating to witness how the Falcons team rallies together, supporting one another, and defying the odds.

Let’s not forget to extend our unwavering support and encouragement to the Falcons. Together, we can uplift their spirits and remind them that setbacks are not the end of the road. With determination and a collective belief in their abilities, they have the potential to turn their fortunes around and surprise us all.

As for the second group, the favorites here include:

We had a tough time finalizing the last slot, and to be completely honest, Astralis managed to secure it, but it was quite a close call. Several teams have been struggling with their game form and have experienced changes in their roster, which has affected their overall strength. For instance, OG is not performing at the same level as they used to.

In general, Group A appears to be stronger compared to the other groups. It is in Group A where we can expect a plethora of exciting matches during the RMR stage. The competition among these teams promises to deliver some thrilling moments and intense battles.
