Gusion is one of the most popular assassins in the legendary MOBA Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. He is loved for his lightning-fast rushes, powerful damage from the cast and clever combos that require practice, but give incredible pleasure from the game. Gushen’s style is built on high risk and huge returns: he rushes around the map, moves between targets and brings down deadly bundles of skills in a split second. His Sword Spike ability is especially scary — once it hits an enemy, it almost always guarantees a kill, no matter where he is. Due to the rapid jerks and teleports, Gushen becomes an extremely inconvenient target, especially if the enemy team lacks sufficient control. But those who have learned to master his combos are able to single-handedly turn the tide of any battle.
However, the high difficulty of the hero also turns into a downside: an inexperienced player can easily be substituted and die if he makes a mistake with the buttons. To stop a strong Gushen, the opponents have to act in a coordinated and thoughtful manner. There are two main ways: either shoot down his combos at the right moment, or use skills with invulnerability, surviving his first explosive blast. Camp and control are the best defense against Gushen, because they do not allow him to complete the bundle, and protective ultimates or invulnerability frames allow Kerry to survive and give the team a chance to respond. Gushen is the epitome of the risk—reward philosophy. In the right hands, he is capable of destroying entire teams, but if he loses the initiative, he himself becomes an easy prey. It’s not easy to master, but the reward for patience and training is worth the effort. But fighting against an experienced Gushen is a challenge that requires a cool head, discipline and clear coordination.

Ruby
For Gushen players, meeting Ruby in Mobile Legends can turn into a real nightmare. Her skill set perfectly breaks the mobile assassin game. The main threat is Ruby’s second ability, “Don’t Run, Wolf King!”. It’s a powerful control skill that can interrupt a Gushen’s combo and lock him in place for a few seconds. And with a cooldown of just 7 seconds, she can disrupt his attacks over and over again, preventing him from realizing his potential in team battles.
The situation is aggravated by her passivity: after any skill, Ruby gets the opportunity to jerk, which helps to evade the branded Sword Spike. By depriving Gushen of the opportunity to finish off enemies with this technique, Ruby literally breaks his style of play. Constant jumping, control and stability turn her into the most difficult target for an assassin. To reduce the Gushen damage at the beginning, Ruby should collect Athena’s Shield as early as possible. This item provides solid protection against his procrastination. Later, Oracle and Immortality will be a great addition, further reducing the risk of death.

But defeating Gushen is not just a matter of Ruby’s choice. It all depends on the team: the assassin is strong where there is no coherence. If Ruby has allies with additional control, such as Lolita with a shield against Sword Spike or Tigril, who can pin down Gushen in the ult, then the assassin’s room for maneuver is drastically reduced. Magicians like Eudora, who can instantly punish a mistake, are also great. The main thing is to prevent Gushen from freely playing the procast and leaving unscathed.
However, Ruby also has weaknesses. As a melee fighter, she can easily become a victim if she finds herself alone or gets her position wrong. Therefore, success depends on careful play, teamwork, and the ability to use skills on time. The Mobile Legends metagame is constantly changing, and the balance of power between Ruby and Gushen is also not standing still. But overall, her control and mobility make her one of the best answers to the insidious assassin. For those who master this style, thwarting Gushen’s plans will not only be effective, but also damn enjoyable.
Hayabusa
If we talk about heroes who are able to compete with Gushen on equal terms in speed and evasion, then Hayabusa comes to mind first. His style is the pure epitome of mobility and unpredictability. The main tool against Gushen is the second ability, “Ninjutsu: Quad Shadow”. With her help, Hayabusa moves through a large area in a matter of moments, leaving behind images that are confusing. It’s almost impossible to hit him with a Sword Spike at such a moment: the ninja is constantly changing positions, turning into an elusive target.
And if Hayabusa manages to strike during the action of “Quad Shadow”, he will immediately activate his ultimate — “Ougi: Shadow Kill”. This powerful skill deals tremendous damage and makes him temporarily invulnerable, completely nullifying Gushen’s attempts to make combos. Such an exchange turns into a failure for the assassin: the procast is disrupted, and a deadly attack arrives in response.

But it should be understood that Hayabusa is a hero for experienced hands. His skills require delicate timing and precise positioning. A mistake, and instead of the perfect antidote to Gushen, he becomes an easy target. Therefore, beginners should practice classic matches first before going up against Holy Blade in ranked battles.
Having mastered its mechanics, the player gets a real chance to disrupt Gushen’s plans over and over again. However, even here the balance is not so clear: the assassin is able to punish Hayabusa for predictable movements or mistakes with shadows. Therefore, the matchup turns into a duel of minds and reflexes, where everything is decided by attentiveness and the ability to anticipate the opponent’s moves.
Minsitthar
Misnitar is a warrior who can be a real nightmare for mobile assassins, and Gushen is no exception here. It’s all about his “King’s Calling” ultimatum. By activating this ability, the Magnetar creates a zone where any blinks and jerks are completely blocked. For Gushen, this is a disaster: he loses his main tools for combos and care. Sword Spike and Incandescence within the radius of the ult turn into useless skills, and the assassin can either run or fight in unfavorable conditions.
But the rest of the skills of Misnitar also play a role. His “Shield Assault” allows you to stun opponents by interrupting the Gushen right during the playout. And the passive “Guardian’s Vengeance” gives additional resistance, which makes it much more resistant to bursts. When properly assembled, it is able not only to survive, but also to reliably cover its allies. Items like Athena’s Shield or Dominance Ice, as well as a Cursed Helmet for gradual damage, should be included in the arsenal against Holy Blade.

The main strength of a Missitar is the ability to hold a position and anticipate the opponent’s actions. Experienced players often stick close to the carry, turning their zone into a safe bastion. When Gushen decides to jump, he is immediately greeted by “King’s Calling” and a camp from the shield. However, the equation is not always simple: a cunning assassin can collect items against control or try to attack at an unexpected moment. Therefore, the Mission Officer must keep the map under control and be ready for any maneuvers.
In general, the duel of these heroes is a confrontation of tactics and reaction. Misnitar is able to completely devalue Gushen’s strengths, but it requires precision and constant presence next to the team. For Gushen, on the contrary, the task boils down to finding a window to bypass the control zone and deliver a decisive blow. Mistakes are almost never forgiven in this dance: the winner is the one who plays more coolly and calculates one step ahead.
