Nevertheless, Fibbage 2 and Quiplash XL are likely to become the main stars of the party. Especially closer to the night, when the alcohol starts to take its toll, and the brain asks for something lighter. These two games can easily work off the full cost of the set. But the other projects in the composition should not be ignored: they are bolder, more experimental and show that the Jackbox Games team is not afraid to take risks and go beyond the usual – even if not always perfect, but with fire.

Jackbox Party Pack 2 is the perfect set for playing with friends

Jackbox Party Pack 2 is a real fun in a box, especially if you are going with friends and want to spend an evening with jokes, absurdity and unexpected turns. The second part brings five completely different games in spirit, and each of them is good in its own way.

The first new product is Fibbage 2. This is a continuation of the popular game of deception and ingenuity. You are given a strange, unspoken question, and you must come up with such a false answer that other players believe it. The goal is to make opponents choose your fiction instead of the truth. In this version, hundreds of new questions were added and a very convenient bonus – “defibulator”, with its help you can remove all false answers except one, and increase your chances of winning. The game still supports up to 8 players, but now viewers can join in and vote for the funniest or most creative answers, which is especially cool for streamers.

Earwax is a sound game. Imagine being given a weird situation like “Gelatin Puddle” or “What the Morning After a Party Sounds Like” and having to choose two sounds out of six to describe it. The judge chooses whose set was the most accurate or just the funniest. It sounds simple, but when fun companies play, chaos ensues: “Batman Takes Off His Pants” paired with “Loud Fart” – and everyone is in tears of laughter. There is no similar round – it all depends on the participants and their imagination.

Bidiots is an unexpected twist on the theme of drawing and auctions. At the beginning, each player draws two objects, not knowing why. Then an auction begins, where you buy other people’s drawings, not knowing what they depict. Some hints will help, but often you have to rely on luck. At the end of the game, it turns out that you bought a “potato” for $3000, and the funny scribble turned out to be the “Mona Lisa”. All this with humor, interest-bearing loans, and the excitement of flea market trading.

Next up is Quiplash XL. A simple but brilliant idea: there is a question, there are two players, each of whom writes a funny or sassy answer, and everyone else votes on whose is cooler. Examples? “What is the worst name for a child?” or “If cars ran on emotions, what would America drive?” It all depends on who you play with – with friends ready for dark humor, the game turns into something unforgettable.

Bomb Corp. is the only game in the set that can be played alone. You get into an office where, for some strange reason, bombs are increasingly happening – and you and your team have to defuse them. Each player receives instructions, and you must discuss what to do before the bomb explodes. The situation is complicated by the fact that the rules often contradict each other. Example scenario:

• Player 1 says: “If the second wire is white, cut the third.”
• Player 2 adds: “Do not cut the third wire under any circumstances.”
• Player 3 is sure that the leftmost one should be cut.
• And Player 4 gets the rule: “Ignore Player 3’s instructions.”

The further you go, the more confusion there is, and if you don’t learn to listen to each other, everything will end in an explosion. Despite the chaos, the game is a great way to improve teamwork and attention to detail. If you have a good group, it will be fun.

In addition to new games, Jackbox has added a spectator mode – even if you are not playing, you can watch what is happening and influence the voting results. And a special timer for spectators compensates for broadcast delays, so that streams go smoothly, and even latecomers can join the fun.

Is it worth taking the second part?

Games in Jackbox Party Pack 2 are launched almost the same way as before – everything is extremely simple and convenient. To connect, you do not need any joysticks or special applications. Here each game feels like a separate mini-adventure, and they can be easily launched even with new people – the explanation takes a minute, and the laughter lasts for a long time. My friends and I easily spend evenings doing this, not noticing how time flies – and this says a lot.

Here are the games included in Jackbox Party Pack 2:

• Fibbage 2 — a classic game of plausible false answers, now with updated questions and new features like a “defibrillator”;
• Earwax — a game where you need to select sounds for the situation, and the result is always unexpected and funny;
• Bidiots — a creative game in which players draw, place bets and try to profit from “masterpieces”;
• Quiplash XL — an extended version of everyone’s favorite game about witty answers and voting for the best jokes;
• Bomb Corp. — a cooperative office game where the team must defuse bombs by following contradictory instructions.

However, there are some nuances. For example, “Fibbage 2” is a great game, fun and hilarious, but it is almost no different from the first part. Yes, they added fresh questions, yes, they updated the interface – but it’s still the same mechanics. It feels like it was included in the build just to get the number of games to five. If you played the original, you probably won’t be surprised by anything.

There are other things that can slightly spoil the experience. For example, most games are designed for a company of three or more people. Only “Bomb Corp.” and “Fibbage” allow you to play together, which means if you want to play with a partner or someone from your family, there won’t be many options. This is a shame, because some of the most fun games are unavailable until you find a third participant.

Difficulties can also arise when streaming some games, especially “Bomb Corp.” This game requires coordination between players – you need to discuss, share hints, and work together to defuse the bomb. And if you play with strangers or viewers without a chat, the process falls apart. One wrong move – and everything explodes. Sure, this is also a gimmick and fun, but when you’re trying to get through a serious round, it becomes sad to lose.

And finally – trophies. If you are one of those who like to collect achievements, be prepared that it will not be an easy walk. Some achievements require eight or nine participants in the game, including viewers. This means that you will not be able to do it alone or even with a couple of friends – you will have to gather a full-fledged company. There are also other tricky trophies: winning a game of Quiplash by collecting 5+ votes, or getting into a special situation in Drawful, or making another player buy your “work of art”. All this sounds fun, but it requires effort and thoughtful organization.

Nevertheless, despite minor rough spots, Jackbox Party Pack 2 is a step forward. The games have become brighter, more diverse and more friendly to new players. If you have a group of friends (or even active subscribers to streams), you can easily spend more than one evening laughing and shouting: “No, don’t click there!” or “That’s definitely his answer, I can feel it!” This collection is definitely worth your attention – especially if you want to diversify your evenings with something light, fun and unforgettable.
