The developers did not remove the “Canon of Creation”, clearly considering it an important part of the universe. But it is the “Canon of Retribution” that is perceived as a more complete work: the drama is better structured here, the characters are more deeply worked out and the emotional response is stronger. Therefore, it is more logical for beginners to start with an updated storyline. The ideal option is to go through both to see the contrast and evaluate the evolution of history, but in practice, not everyone is willing to invest a hundred and fifty hours of their time in this.

Considering that the familiar regions have been slightly expanded, magatsuro fit seamlessly into the design of the levels and added verticality to the study. Some of these paths are immediately visible, and some will have to be searched with the help of guide demons, which adds an element of hunting for secrets. The mini-map still marks points of interest, but now new energy routes may be hidden among them.
The list of guide demons has increased significantly. If you are accompanied by the fairy Amanozako at the beginning, then later, as the story progresses, other allies may take her place. This adds variability and highlights the importance of interacting with companions. Demon Gardens deserves special attention, as an attempt to introduce elements of the social system familiar from the Persona series into SMTV. Through the ley sources, you can teleport to a small area where all your demon allies gather. Here you communicate with them, give gifts, strengthen ties and gradually increase their loyalty. The more actively you interact with your teammates and participate in joint battles, the higher the chance of getting bonuses to stats or useful items. The idea looks interesting and adds emotional depth, but in practice it takes time: running between demons and frequent teleportation can be exhausting, especially considering that you will soon merge or replace some allies anyway. But the notification system regularly reminds you that someone from the team wants to talk – you can’t ignore it.
For fans of the combat system, the developers have added a battle simulator available in the medical research laboratory after the first region. Here you can fight against already defeated opponents again, either in the normal mode or in the challenge mode, where the enemies become stronger after each victory. This is a great way to hone your tactics, test builds, and upgrade your skills, especially after completing the main storyline. Personally, I already had enough content, but for those who like grind, challenge and perfect combos, the simulator will be a pleasant bonus.

The game has new moon quests that you need to complete before the full moon, as well as tasks where you control the demon directly. These missions not only diversify the passage, but also reward with rare talismans, amulets and other valuable resources. The battles become protracted, but the reward is also appropriate — more experience, items, and currency.

The collection of creatures has also noticeably expanded: more than 40 new demons have been added to Vengeance — both plot-based, including representatives of the Kadishta race, and ordinary ones available for recruitment.
