Robocop is back! Following the success of the dark shooter RoboCop: Rogue City, the developers have prepared a new adventure — RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business. This is an independent story that continues the plot of the original, but you can play it without being familiar with the main game. However, if you liked the style and atmosphere of the first Rogue City — Unfinished Business will certainly be a great continuation of your cyber police experience.

After the events of RoboCop: Rogue City, Alex Murphy has no plans to retire. Detroit is still drowning in crime. At night, gangsters of all stripes patrol the streets, and during the day, the city is ruled by much more sophisticated villains – in expensive suits and with even dirtier hands. And as if that were not enough, a new force appears in the city – well-organized, well-armed and ready to hit where it hurts the most.
One day, under the cover of night, a brutal attack is committed on the police station building. This is where Murphy himself serves. The scene that he witnesses is not just a massacre. This is one of the most difficult and dark events in the game: corpses, blood, a feeling of hopelessness. But at the same time – and the awakening of rage. RoboCop understands: he must take revenge on those who dared to inflict such pain. The trail of criminals leads to the new skyscraper of the OCP company – OmniTower. According to the documents, she is outside Murphy’s area of responsibility. But when justice is a joke, Robocop forgets about paperwork. He dons his armor and goes on a mission where there is no place for mercy. Ahead are severed limbs, exploding heads, and bloody retribution.

The plot of Unfinished Business is a direct continuation of Rogue City, but at times the game takes us back to the past. Players will have to play as three different characters, including Murphy himself at the time when he was still an ordinary cop. Each return to the past is not just a background. These are full-fledged chapters with different tones and game mechanics: from a dynamic shooter without cyber implants to an atmospheric horror or even a tense spy thriller. These episodes are short, but leave a strong impression thanks to a well-thought-out style and plot.
The main antagonist of the new story is Cassius Graves. He, like Murphy, once wore a badge and believed in the law. But his path went in a different direction. Graves is a lively, bright, intelligent enemy with a philosophical mindset and real charisma. He is not just a villain for the sake of villainy. You can understand him. You can even partly agree with his views. He reminds me of Frank Castle, if he finally stopped believing in good and began to see a threat in everyone. The developers show how he gradually loses humanity and turns into a monster. This is not a fairy tale about a hero and a villain – this is a tragedy. Bloody, dark, cold. And very personal.

RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business Gameplay
The main events of Unfinished Business take place within one, but far from boring place – OmniTower. This is a whole vertical world, in which residential areas, laboratories, industrial zones and even secluded corners where those whom society has chosen to forget are hiding are located. In this giant anthill, Robocop will have to face a wide variety of people: from the poor and scientists to mercenaries, gangsters and, of course, robots of all stripes. With each floor, the atmosphere thickens, and the enemies become more sophisticated. If at first, bandits naked in armor and spirit come out against Robo, then later – well-equipped fighters in futuristic armor, with gadgets and equipment at the ready. Combat robots also arrive on the battlefield – from walking tanks to deadly drones. Fortunately, our cyber hero does not come to service as a rookie. He is already upgraded, armed with an Auto-9 pistol and is able to use everything around him — from steel doors to gas tanks — as a weapon of vengeance.
The game still has upgrades, and that’s nice. Skills enhance Robo in various ways: from hacking safes to bonuses to experience and damage in shootouts. And the boards turn him into a machine of destruction: endless shooting without reloading, spectacular finishing moves, increased accuracy… With such upgrades, he becomes almost invincible. But the enemies are no pushovers either. Some of them are armed with new guns — for example, a freeze weapon. This nasty invention can turn a cyber hero into a helpless statue in the middle of a shootout. However, in the hands of Robocop, the same gun becomes a real gift: freeze the crowd — and smash it like glass. True, the ammunition flies away faster than you can say “I serve the law.”

Many new enemies are scary at first. But everything changes when you find an approach to them – and over time, meeting them no longer causes horror, but almost nostalgia. Like old friends – you know how to deal with them, and you do it with pleasure. Screenshots cannot convey what you feel when time slows down, explosions are everywhere, bullets cut through the air, and ice floes turn opponents into statues. A well-aimed shot – and their heads fly apart, sometimes throwing their bodies into the air. All this to a powerful soundtrack, including legendary themes from films – they add grandeur and emotion to what is happening. Gradually, Robocop’s pompous phrases cease to seem funny – you yourself begin to repeat them with the same seriousness.
And when something unexpected appears – like new boots for the hero – you catch yourself exclaiming with joy. And you realize: yes, Unfinished Business is doing something right with you.
Characters in RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business
Unfinished Business is not just a game about shooting and dealing with criminals. Yes, there is enough action, but the main thing is that RoboCop remains true to himself: he is not just a machine, he is a defender of the law. And that means he cannot calmly pass by a person in trouble. Sometimes it is something simple – helping a passerby, sorting out a domestic conflict or eliminating a threat on the streets. And sometimes – real mini-detectives woven into the plot. The interesting thing is that all these side quests are optional. If you want – help, if you don’t want – move on. But it is these moments that make RoboCop closer to a living person, and not just a soulless cyborg.
As you progress, Robo becomes more and more powerful. At first, you can hardly cope even with a group of thugs, and by the end you turn into an unstoppable machine of justice that can stop a crowd with one look. And that’s why the last part of the game feels much easier: not because it’s poorly balanced, but because you’re a completely different hero. It’s like the ending of a good movie – you’ve come a long way, you’ve become stronger, and now nothing can stop you.

But not everything in the game is built on strength. The developers have added a drop of soul to Robocop. He can be not only a gloomy crime fighter, but also just a normal guy. For example, play basketball in the backyard, watch a movie in an old cinema or pet a street cat. Yes, Rogue City is full of furry creatures, and some are literally asking for hugs. And if you’ve always thought Robocop was too harsh, this is your chance to see him in a new light.
The familiar Rogue City system of interaction with civilians has returned. This time, it works more for the atmosphere and funny moments than for serious decisions. For example, you can punish the offender with a fine or get off with a simple warning. This doesn’t have much of an impact on the plot, but it does make the player feel that he is still responsible. And in a world where laws are shaky and even machines think about what to do right, this means a lot.
And, of course, the iconic franchise-style inserts are still there: videos, radio broadcasts, crazy commercials with twisted logic. They are not just a background, but an important part of the atmosphere. These details remind us that we are in a dystopia with dark humor, where society is going downhill, and the main character has not only a gun, but also the ability to think. Whether you laugh, feel sad, or make fun of what is happening is up to you. But it certainly won’t be boring.
Problems in RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business
However, Unfinished Business is not without its problems – especially annoying when it comes to localization. Sometimes the Russian translation simply disappears: in some scenes, there is no text at all, in others, the characters are confused by gender, with a man being labeled as a woman. All this is confusing and takes away from the atmosphere. The game is also spoiled by technical flaws. Periodic lags can force you to reduce the graphics or endure a drop in FPS. Add to this visual bugs: strange behavior of light, jumping shadows and other effects that look more like a flaw than style.

Among the most noticeable technical problems are:
-
Localization: missing text and incorrect character captions
-
FPS lags and drops on high settings
-
Visual bugs with lighting and shadows
-
Illogical behavior of enemies (get stuck, run head-on, pass through walls)
-
Glitchy corpses that can “dance”
-
Problems with weapon selection
-
Invisible walls that prevent you from attacking enemies
The enemy AI, as before, leaves much to be desired: enemies can mindlessly rush forward, get stuck in walls, or just stand there while Robocop methodically shoots them. Some of them pass through textures, and dead bodies sometimes behave as if they were participating in a dance competition. No serious, critical bugs were noticed, but some moments still spoil the impression. The bug with weapons is especially annoying – sometimes you just can’t pick it up until you reboot. Well, invisible walls also throw up surprises, preventing you from hitting the enemy even from close range.
RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business will be the game of the year!
RoboCop: Rogue City — Unfinished Business is not just an add-on, but a real gift for RoboCop fans. The same love for the original material as in the main game is felt here. You will find a bloody, brutal and spectacular action movie filled with the spirit of the cult hero – it will definitely please fans of the franchise and those who just love good shooters.

Yes, Unfinished Business cannot be called a large game – it is quite compact. But that is why we recommend turning on the maximum difficulty to get the most impressions. Everything we loved about the original is here – and a few things have been added on top.
If the developers from Teyon continue to approach the matter with the same attention to detail, respect for the original source and sincere enthusiasm, many more cool and memorable games await us ahead.
