The energy, dynamics and cinematic quality of the battles perfectly convey the spirit of the original source, making the gameplay exciting and intense.

For example, Luffy already has about fifteen unique combos at the very beginning, the execution of which requires precise timing and button presses, which makes reaction speed critical. As players progress, they can unlock new abilities in two ways. The first is a traditional experience system, in which points are awarded for participating in battles and completing tasks. The second method is based on collecting special coins, which are awarded for completing side missions, quests, and defeating rare enemies. These coins play a key role in character development: with their help, you can strengthen parameters such as attack power, stamina and defense, increase the number of available skill slots, and also improve the special move activated by the “circle” button. In addition, players have new abilities at their disposal that can significantly diversify the battle. The excitement of hunting for coins becomes a powerful incentive to replay missions, along with the desire to get the highest score – rank S – for each task. This gives the opportunity to look at familiar events from a new angle and feel the freshness of the gameplay. Finally, the third, in my opinion, the most unusual and exciting is the Dream Journal. In it, players can experience alternative scenarios and non-canonical events that expand the boundaries of the main plot and allow you to explore the world of the game in a completely different way. In this adventure, we get to select one of many heroes and embark on a quest to conquer a series of islands. Each island presents a distinct mission filled with challenges, but some are fiercely guarded by formidable foes we must overcome. As we seize island after island, battling through waves of enemies, we’ll eventually arrive at the final stretch of land where an epic showdown with the fierce Shanks awaits us, promising a thrilling climax to our journey. In this mode, I decided to play as a new heroine—Tashigi, a dedicated marine sergeant. She quickly became my favorite character in the One Piece: Pirate Warriors series, thanks to her fantastic combos and lightning-fast sword skills. Tashigi’s unique fighting style and engaging personality make each battle exhilarating, and I find myself enjoying every moment spent mastering her techniques.

For avid trophy hunters, the game offers a plethora of hours filled with repetitive grinding, all set against a backdrop of fantastic electronic tunes. Players will find themselves unlocking a variety of posters and “legends,” striving to achieve S-ranks in every episode, leveling up their favorite characters, and taking on makeshift “forty-island pirates,” among numerous other activities that promise to keep them engaged. Like any game in the Musou genre, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 begins with an exhilarating and captivating experience during the first few hours. However, as time goes on, the gameplay can start to feel somewhat monotonous and repetitive. Nevertheless, after a break, the vibrant narrative, dynamic characters, and the compelling urge to defeat thousands of virtual foes draw players back into the colorful world of the “Straw Hat Pirates,” reigniting their passion for adventure.

For those who have long been familiar with the world of One Piece or appreciate the mechanics of mass battles, the project will be a successful addition to the collection. But newcomers to the genre should approach with a degree of caution: the cyclical nature of the tasks and the monotony of the pace can quickly cool the initial enthusiasm. As a result, we have a product that delights some and annoys others.

Not a very cool beat ‘em up in terms of gameplay or graphics. If it weren’t for the popular license, hardly anyone would have noticed it.
