Nintendo has long been famous for its peculiar policies in the gaming industry. Jokes and memes about how the company treats fans, sets high prices and never misses an opportunity to involve lawyers have long been part of the Internet. And yet, despite this, millions of players around the world continue to remain loyal to their products – this company creates too high-quality and iconic games to refuse them.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Free Steam Account
At first glance, “Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl” looks like a fun alternative to well-known platform fighting games. The formula is simple: several levels, arenas of different shapes and sizes, and the main goal is to knock the opponent out of the court or wear him out so much that he collapses himself.
The fighters are familiar to everyone Nickelodeon characters. Here is the eternal optimist SpongeBob, and his faithful friend Patrick, and energetic Sandy. There are Aang and Korra from “Avatar”, the noisy Loud family, the ninja turtles Leonardo and Michelangelo, reporter April O’Neil, as well as the legends of cartoon absurdity – Ren and Stimpy, Toastman, Zim, CatDog and even Reptar. Helga, Danny Phantom, Oblina and Nigel Thornberry have been added to the list. And this is clearly not the limit – new heroes will still appear.
The difference between the characters is not as noticeable as one would like: some are slightly more effective at a distance, some are better in close combat. But ultimately, victory is decided by three factors: knowledge of the arena’s features, persistence, and at least minimal tactics.

However, there are also problems. The fights do not seem balanced, and the controls are sometimes confusing. It is especially strange to realize that in a platform fighting game, the “up” button suddenly ceases to be a jump. Instead of the simplicity that players of the genre are accustomed to (“easy to start – hard to master”), you have to figure things out through tutorials and spend time training.
As a result, there is a feeling of chaos. Instead of friendly fun for four, which the developers clearly planned, confusion and bewilderment often set in: what to do, how to play, and why are the controls resistant? For a project that positions itself as affordable entertainment for a company, this is a serious mistake.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Gameplay
In essence, this is an attempt to copy Super Smash Bros., but it turned out noticeably worse. The mechanics are the same: you hit, collect percentages, so that it will be easier to throw the opponent out of the arena later. Throw the enemy down a couple of times – your victory. At the basic level, everything seems to work, but the longer you play, the faster the thought comes: “Maybe I should return the money for this?”
The first thing that irritates is the controls. Seriously, who came up with the idea of assigning a jump to the triangle, and some attacks to the cross (if we take the PlayStation layout)? This is absolutely unintuitive and, frankly, just stupid. Why change something that was initially convenient and familiar?

The second problem is the characters. Yes, the roster is impressive, but in reality, almost all of them play the same. The difference is minimal. There are three conventional archetypes: long-range zoners, fast and nimble heroes, and heavyweights who make slow but powerful strikes. Then, dozens of skins are simply pulled onto these blanks, and here you have the whole “diverse” choice.
And, of course, artificial intelligence. If you throw away online and try to play only against bots, then this is a separate attraction. They are not just stupid – sometimes you get the feeling that they do not understand the task. Instead of fighting, they often jump into the abyss themselves. They can seem dangerous only if you have not yet figured out the controls. But it is worth spending just a couple of hours in the game, and even the “strongest” computer opponents become easy prey.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Characters
At first glance, the character models look quite decent. Of course, it’s immediately obvious that the project is not expensive – some rough edges can be forgiven. But not everything. For example, as soon as Ren and Stimpy appear in the menu before the battle, you want to close your eyes: in the cartoon series, they already looked quite grotesque, but their 3D versions managed to become even more unnatural and even slightly frightening.

As for the choice of heroes, there are a lot of questions here. There are 25 characters available (three more are sold separately, but that’s a separate story). Why did they add Toph Beifong from the Avatar universe, and not, say, Katara or Zuko? It’s also strange with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: the game only has Leonardo and Michelangelo, but where are Donatello and Raphael? Another example is Jimmy Neutron: instead of the genius himself, we get his father. And if we’re talking about “The Loud House”, it would be more logical to add characters from more popular Nickelodeon franchises – “The Fairly OddParents”, “The Angry Beavers” or even take an unexpected step and include Dora the Explorer. The license has huge potential, but the developers seem to have decided not to take risks.
But the arenas turned out better. Each is associated with the main roster heroes, and although most are standard platforms with a background from the cartoon series, sometimes the developers try to add variety. And it must be said that it is in these moments that the game looks the most developed.
