Imagine having an old, beat-up car that you can turn into a true sports beast with your own hands. In Mon Bazou, you decide your path: earn money by felling trees in the forest, organize crazy night races, or work part-time as a pizza delivery driver. Or perhaps business is more your thing? Then develop your own maple syrup production and build an entire empire.
There are no strict rules or restrictions here—it’s a true sandbox where you can build a huge garage from scratch, ride a motorcycle, and test your skills as a racer. Developed by Santa Goat Studio, the game is available on PC. Mon Bazou combines several genres: simulation, racing, and survival elements. And all of this is designed for single-player, with no online modes—just you and your success story.

If you enjoy unusual games with a touch of the absurd and a unique atmosphere, then Mon Bazou is right up your alley. The title itself—it translates from Quebec French as “my wreck”—tells you what to expect. Essentially, it’s a story about turning a pile of rusty metal into a proper racing car, earning money in the most unexpected ways.
The story takes us to mid-2000s Canada, where car enthusiasts thrive: street racing, tuning, garage modifications, and the desire to prove that your car deserves respect.
Although Mon Bazou is still in Early Access, it’s clear that developer SantaGoat has poured his heart into it. It’s surprising how rich it is for a one-man project: despite its recent release, it already has over a hundred reviews on Steam, almost all of them positive. Many players compare it to the cult classic My Summer Car—and indeed, both games share that same “energetic energy” that makes them beloved in the racing and car simulation genres.

There are plenty of ways to earn money: you can chop down trees and sell the wood, collect maple syrup and build a log cabin to store it, deliver pizza at night, participate in races, and even bet on them. And if you’re feeling adventurous, head to the junkyard in search of rare parts. But don’t forget: you won’t get far without gas money. The game also lets you experience the life of the Canadian outback, from cooking poutine to growing grass in the forest.
Special attention is paid to vehicle upgrades: upgrades await not only your “Bazou” but also your trailer, boat, or ATV. All of this is presented with a healthy dose of humor—Mon Bazou isn’t just about cars, but also about the joy of the process, the joy of living and having fun the way you like.

Mon Bazou gameplay
When you first log into the game, it all starts right at your house. Once you step out of the door, you can see a courtyard with a whole range of useful facilities: a small car park, a garden shed, an impressive concrete foundation and a road running along the site. It is best to start with the barn: inside you will find a wall with important to-do lists that will tell you how to move forward. First of all, pay attention to the “GETTING STARTED” section, it will help you get used to it.
The controls are simple and intuitive. Any item is selected with the left mouse button, and tools are conveniently equipped using the E key. If you want to restore your Konig car, just take the necessary part and install it in the appropriate place — the system will automatically fix the item. To reach the engine, first pull the hood release lever (it is located near the driver’s feet), after which the hood can be lifted from the outside.

The main feature of the repair is bolts. Almost all the details in the game are fixed with them. To install everything correctly, arm yourself with a monkey wrench from the shed: clamp the bolt, screw it into the part and tighten it by holding down the left mouse button. If you need to loosen, hold the right one. Check the fasteners on the Konig especially carefully: most of the bolts on the wheels will be loosened, and in order to complete the task of “Tightening the wheel bolts”, you need to tighten all twenty.
In order not to get confused, remember the basic steps of car repair:
-
take the part and install it in the right place;
-
open the hood using the lever in the cabin;
-
use an adjustable wrench to fix the bolts;
-
check and tighten the fastenings on the wheels.
When the car is put in order, all the bolts are tightened, and it is removed from the stands (to do this, hover over the rack and hold down the right mouse button with your empty hand), your Konig is ready for the first trip! However, be prepared for the fact that the tires will be flat and the tank is almost empty. To solve these problems, you will have to go shopping in the nearest city.
