I was not familiar with the first part of Easy Red at all, as well as with its creators. Therefore, skipping any prerequisites, I immediately switched to the second game of the series. And to be honest, despite the impressive number of laudatory reviews on Steam, my expectations were surprisingly modest. Perhaps the complete information silence around the project played a role: I hadn’t heard a word about Easy Red 2 until the last moment and found myself on the game page almost by accident, as if I had stumbled upon a hidden project that was still looking for its audience.
But it is precisely such discoveries that sometimes surprise the most, especially when it comes to unusual shooters, atmospheric reconstructions of battles and experimental gameplay.

Easy Red 2 Free Steam Account
Easy Red 2 is a military shooter that combines a first— and third-person perspective and immerses the player in the fierce battles of World War II. There is no full—fledged campaign with a plot here – the developers have relied on a more free format. However, single player mode feels almost the same as online battles.: Regardless of the army you choose, you will either have to attack key points or hold positions under the onslaught of the enemy. If you are familiar with the atmosphere of the Red Orchestra, you will quickly feel the recognizable dynamics and familiar tactical rhythm.
Moving on to the content, the first thing that really strikes me is the scale and volume of the content available. The player opens up several extensive campaigns, each of which includes an average of six to eight missions. The campaigns are available immediately, but the tasks themselves open gradually, as you progress — a classic progression that allows you to experience the evolution of combat operations.

Among the presented theaters of military operations is an impressive set of iconic historical battles. There is the bloody battle of Stalingrad, the African campaign in Tunisia, and the legendary Normandy landings. There is an invasion of France, events in China, and recently the developers added the battle for Anzio. Judging by the regular updates, the project continues to be actively supported, and the content is gradually expanding. To be honest, the list is already so long that some operations are not immediately remembered.

Fighter classes, weapons, and combat mechanics in Easy Red 2
The classic squad structure in Easy Red 2 is built around several roles, and each of them affects the tactics of combat and the overall pace of gameplay. Among the standard classes, you can find a squad commander, regular shooters, radio operators, snipers, and medics. A separate fighter with a PTR, a powerful anti—tank rifle, is provided for anti-tank units. Sappers and field engineers specializing in demolition work and fortifications meet separately. There aren’t many classes in general, but they cover key combat missions.

List of available fighter classes:
-
Squad Leader
-
Shooter
-
Radio operator
-
The Sniper
-
The medic
-
Anti-tank fighter (armored fighter)
-
Engineer
-
The Minesweeper
Soldiers differ primarily in their weapons. Shooters tend to fight with rifles, commanders more often use automatic submachine guns, and almost every fighter has a spare pistol. The set of weapons impresses with its historicity: all the key barrels of the Second World War are present in the arsenal — from the MP 40 and PPSh to the Mosin rifle and other classic models, which adds atmosphere and realism to the game.
Gunfights feel surprisingly pleasant. The rollback, the sound of the shot and the visual impact make the fire fight intense and weighty. You can shoot both from the hip and through the sight, using various stands — standing, sitting, lying down or looking out from behind cover. However, heavy machine guns limit mobility: aimed shooting from them is possible only lying down or sitting with an emphasis. The arsenal also contains fragmentation grenades, smoke bombs, anti—tank charges and mines – their set depends on the chosen class.
In addition to weapons, each fighter has a set of equipment. This is a uniform, helmet or cap, as well as armor elements. The curious mechanics allow you to remove uniforms from fallen soldiers and try them on yourself — almost like in stealth games. However, the system only works half-way: by disguising yourself in the enemy’s uniform, you will remain an obvious threat to the AI, so you should not rely on disguise.
The damage system in the game is harsh: one or two hits and the character drops dead. Easy Red 2 strongly tends towards a cautious, tactical approach, reminiscent of ARMA and other realistic military simulations. For fans of aggressive shooter style, this model may seem too hardcore.
The mechanics of treatment are interesting. Any wound requires a two-step recovery: first you need to stop the bleeding with bandages, and then raise your health with food or medicine. The medic has more opportunities — he is able to raise allies who have not yet died completely. A syringe, a clamp and scissors are used for this purpose. A prompt appears above the wounded person, indicating which tool to use. A mistake and the fighter will die. An interesting detail: even enemies can be treated. If you help the enemy, he will surrender and cease to be a threat.
The damage system is visual here: injuries are visible on the models, and partial dismemberment is possible in case of explosions. An explosion can take off an arm or a leg, sometimes both. The head, however, always stays in place, and the blood looks too thick — perhaps the weakest element in the overall picture of realism.
