Passing through portal after portal, he finds himself in new, unknown worlds, each of which is harsh and hostile. Maxwell initially laughs at his attempts, considering them pointless, but the closer Wilson gets to the goal, the more anxiety the former king of the Constant feels – his power begins to waver.

There is no place for cozy survival or long-term construction. You need to move forward – and as quickly as possible. The worlds the hero finds himself in leave no choice: either endless winter or impenetrable night. The only thing that helps is a special staff that shows the way to the parts of the portal. Over time, Wilson finds a way into Maxwell’s own hall… and takes his place. The constant and its mysterious creatures always need a new source of energy – and now this source is the scientist himself.
But the story does not end there. Soon a new figure ascended the throne – Charlie, the former assistant of the illusionist and the embodiment of darkness in Don’t Starve Together. And along with her, the entire lore of the game continued to develop – acquiring new secrets, theories and details that players collect bit by bit to this day.

But then Shipwrecked comes along… and destroys everything you’ve gotten used to. Instead of familiar paths and familiar threats, there’s an endless ocean, and your new “ground under your feet” is a fragile boat or surfboard. Welcome to the water chaos, where land is a luxury and stability is an illusion.
With the release of this add-on, the very atmosphere of the game changes beyond recognition. Dark tones and ominous forests give way to tropical fun, where Hawaiian motifs sound in the music, and the sand shimmers with such a warm and cozy color that you involuntarily want to drop everything and stay forever. Today, Klei Entertainment has focused almost all of its attention on the development of the cooperative version — Don’t Starve Together. The game lives and breathes: new heroes regularly appear in it, and old ones receive fresh “reworks”, themed events are launched on holidays, and players are delighted with original outfits and skins for items.
